just an fyi for the uninitiated...

it is very relaxing and therapuetic to take an evening and learn how to field strip a new firearm, clean and inspect it to get it ready for your first test firing of the weapon... :D

Softball,
myself and a couple of folks from work are likely going to the range on Friday at lunch. can you make lunchtime in the Kearney Mesa area??? if you are interested...

Lunch and gun range.

I would LOVE to go! However, I have to get a gun safe and trigger lock before I can transport my gun legally. I only have my police holster and belt right now. As far as I know, CA gun laws state it is illegal to carry a firearm out of a gun safe and without a trigger lock in public. Is this true Steel? Or does the gun just need to be unloaded and locked up(Trigger lock or gun safe)? Let me know.

Now what if there comes a time when you need to use the darn thing. I'm not going to fumble around looking for the weapon then the ammo then try and get the trigger guard off. Lock and Load Baby!

well, in the trunk is fine - that serves as a locked container...

in that case you can keep the ammo and the weapon both in the trunk.

if you carry it in the passenger compartment, it has to be in a locked container - if it is a bag it must be locked.

ammo must then go in the trunk.

i will not know if i can go until arounf 11AM... call my cell - see PM's

this range will not allow steel cased ammo - use a magnet to test the bullets. they sell ammo, but as usual at ranges they are a bit pricey. i am bringing a .30-06 rifle and a 7.62x39 rifle. only 20 rounds each as they are first time firing...need to take it easy on them.
