We play Sunday afternoons, and weeknights @8, but which weeknights is the thing. It's Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, but we're never sure which ones we'll be up, or if Il-2 is what we'll be playing.
We usually use my Ventrilo server since it sounds better than RW.

8 eastern? or pacific? I'm assuming you mean eastern given you're in FL. I would be willing to d/l ventrilo and play with you guys on Thurs. or Sun. nights. Maybe Mon. At least one of those three. That would be a good time for me too because I would'nt be staying up so late. Man, finally a eastern wof crew to fly with.

You see this is annoying i have only got IL2 Vanilla flavour and i still fly it and have really got going with it the past 2 weeks since i got my 19" monitor that has made a world of difference to my skill level i can actuall shoot down other planes!

I wasn't into it for a long while since my gunnery was way to inaccurate but at 1600 X 1200 and the Graphics options maxed out i can hit my targets with an amazingly higher accuracy now which has turned this game around big time for me and today i just recieved Track IR 3 Pro in the post i am setting it up just now and can't wait to see how that transforms my flight sims! Not to mention increase my Situation Awareness.

We don't often play Sunday or Thursday night, but we do on occasion.

We've been using my PC for a Ventrilo server as my IP has been static for quite some time now (a couple of months). Of course, it may change at any time, but for now...

i want to...but time has been my enemy in the last month. since the quarter is over, i should have more time available...

i only have forgotten battles installed. i uninstalled il2 cuz it seemed the consensus the last time we flew il2, most wanted to go to fb instead.

fb is much better...as long as you have the patches. more planse, etc.

Right, the original Il-2 is no longer needed. The only it has that FB doesn't is some missions. All the planes are there, all the maps are there.
Panzer and I play often, and Gator did join us one time, so FB w/AEP is our standard setup.

I have FB, and might be getting AEP soon.

I have the Aces addon but have not installed it yet... If you install it, is the game still compatible with just IL2:FB? Or does everyone have to have the Aces addon?

That's a good question to which I do not have the answer. I know there are AEP patches, and usually everyone has to be at the same patch level. I don't think there are AEP-level patches for FB, so my guess is "no" but I can't back that up.

that has been my hesitation in installing Aces...not everyone has that expansion and we would be incompatible...

would everyone with FB that is interested in flying be against an Aces requirement?

right now I have no money to buy aces.

I would absolutely love for us to try out IL-2 +AEP online. I volunteer to host the server! I have plenty of good coop missions from the Eastern Front, Western Front (Ardennes & Normandy), North Africa and Pacific.

It's just like OFP:Res or RvS:AS--those without it are in one group, those with it in another.
Until such time as those without get it, I don't know what the solution would be.
I know for certain that Gator, Panzer, and I are all at AEP level...
Who besides Hammer and Grifter is still at stock FB level?

Yup would love to get IL2 FB and Aces addon but saving up for my holiday in three weeks time so no chance of getting it till after i return from holiday, not that im actually going anywhere on holiday, me and Tracey just taking 2 weeks off work and chilling out with some friends that are coming down from Scotland to visit.

Although one high point will be the Airshow that is on at the beachfront on the 29th and 30 July during the first week.They have an Airshow every year here at that time and the display is along the beach and lasts for 2 days.

Kodiak if you are not busy you could head over for a day to see it.
