Well, thanx guys. What can I say - I take solace in the fact that one day, you'll all get there! And there'll be some young git laughing at you, saying youy're over the hill. My only concern is whether or not you'll look back and appreciate life for what it is and that you are lucky enough just to be here. Just be able to look back and say you've lived a little, and be on a promise to yourself to ensure you live a bit more in the next 40 years! Cos I'll tell you what, my next 40 years I'm gonna be a friggin lunatic!!

You already are a friggin lunatic. You're not old though. Actually I thought you were older than that, but I guess you just sound experienced over the comms. 38? You're a kid. HA!

Happy B-Day Kodiak!! Hope it's a good one.

BTW, Kodiak, received your items in the mail. THANK YOU! I have yet to test out the strap (I have to dig out the 552 from the pile of crap in front of my closet). They are some heavy duty slings, I can't wait to try them out. 8) The cleaning kit is a big bonus, thanks Bro!

Dude, I've had that stuff for you since about one week after you asked for it! 8O And after finding that copy of J F/A-18 I originally offered to RedDog,, and then I decided that was it, I would find all that gear and send it out as promised.
The straps are heavy duty cos they are the real McCoy, the L85A1 strap has a specific method of use, and is essentially not a strap but a sling. When used correctly it has 3 different methods of carry for your weapon, but you need to have the right sling-hooks too, you could make them if need be. But if you give a few weeks . . .LOL!
No idea what you can do with the cleaning tools themselves - I just thought you might be able to adapt them in some way for your weapon. It was really the cleaning tool bag that I thought you'd find most useful.

Definitely not me. Both me and my wife were born the same year. Her birthday is October 4th and mine is October 3rd.

However, I do have a friend from high school who is 31 and his wife is 46! 8O

Hey Steel - no probs as long as it's legal, and for the right reasons (ya dirty ol' fart! ) My Kerrie was only 15 when we first met, and I was married!!
K, I wouldn't say it's a macho thing, more of an "I like older men" thing and the guy's response being "Hey! Who am I to say no?!"

Older men is one thing 8O

But anything above about 10 years is really pushing it.

IIRC the Chinese culture has some arithmetic formula for how much older the man should be than his wife. something like double her age plus a few years.

At any rate, i think for someone Steel's age, it worked out to about 20-25 years. Which means Steel has apparently found the perfect solution. And not just numbers-wise.

Which reminds me of a patient i saw last week or so. She was about 20-25, nice looking Asian chick - married to a 65+ year old guy. No kidding. Who said you cant find true love anymore? He enjoys his later years, she enjoys many happy financially independent years after he passes on with a smile on his face. It is all good.
