I will have sent Hammer his copy of Jane's F/A-18 this week, so he should get it within a few days. An he should def be ready to blast off with that, especially once he has his Broadband connection too.
Could you list all the mods or patches he needs to get started, here. And links too if possible, thx. I will download them today and put them on a disc and send them with his F/A-18 once I post it tomorrow morning.

There is only one MOD and that is TSH which I don't use but if thats what we need then I will download and install. I will be ready for the mission this weekend.

Well, since this is middle east theatre, we will be using TSH v2.0 and the Iraq theatre - not the Korean theatre.

There is a link to TSH in the JFA-18 thread. To install the Iraq theatre you will need Jane's F-15 to install it.

I don't know if I have the second CD for JF-15 and hell since JF-15 is pretty accurate on what we want to do in the IRAQI theatre why don't we use that game also(I know we are trying to keep the numbers down).

Revised
I only have the first CD for JF-15, if someone is willing to trade I have an extra copy of JF-18 to give away.

DA if you want to write a mission for Jane's F15 go ahead. I do not have it installed, do not intend to reinstall it. Jane's F15 has never been supported by WOF. That is why we arent using it.

I don't know about JF-15, But I know I do have JUSAF, which has an Iraqi theater. Are missions moddable/editable? I think they are, but if we can have confirmation of this, I propose to include it if people still have it. I certainly like it, it's about the ONLY flight sim I have that I was good at from the start.

Doubt you'll get this lot moving for that Hammer, takes enough effort just to get away with testing new potential standards without having someone want to rag you about it, eh Madrus? And you want to introduce an out-of-date flying game? Lemme see what odds I can offer you . . . .
Anyway, on a more serious point, Hammer your JF/A-18 is on it's way. Unfortunately I have NOT included your TSH patch, mainly cos I wanted to make sure you got the JF/A-18 ontime. The patch I couldn't find before getting it in the post this morning.

There was actually quite a few folks that liked USAF. There is a mod called SuperPak for USAF that has done a lot, including graphics. BTW, the original graphics for this game were at least twice as good as Falcon. I think the problem with USAF was the lack of fidelity, but overall it is a pretty good game. There are no clickable cockpits, but you can fly a lot of different planes in the game. It is easy to create missions for, and you can even create campaigns. You can have live OPFOR (Falcon too though), and USAF is probably easier on connectivity issues.

If you have USAF installed, you might post about it and get some of the nostalgic folks to fly it. If you are really motivated, install the latest superpak and give it a run through and report to us...

I think one down side was Jane's simulations lack of compatability with windows xp, which pretty much kills it for most if not all of us. The superpak may have done something for that though...

USAF is my favorite game of all time. i started flying that the day WOF was formed and have always loved it.

USAF only works properly on a 98 SE system. You lose editor functions when you install over XP.

IMHO, once they started modding USAF, the whole game went downhill. Granted, the flight models were not accurate in the official game, but the mods improved one aspect but made others, such as the turn rate and roll rate, worse.

I would love to fly USAF again, but i am only willing to fly it with either no patches or the only official patch, 1.01 I think. Superpak was a huge bust IMO, and did not deliver anything that was playable.

Well, Kodiak, apparently you don't want to let the matter alone. So I will respond - when you decide to do away with the standard installation that we all use and just have your own install, you mess things up for us all. Because when we have someone who shows up with a different install, we either change games and don't play the one we wanted to, or we do play it with one less player (and feel guilty for leaving someone out). I don't think either situation is worth it.

But i see that you wound up doing it the right way after all. You finally figured out that Steel did tell you how to do a dual install from the beginning. And now you have a dual install. Which was my point all along - a dual install is how we "test" new features while maintaining the ability to join each other.

Kodiak is going to 'join' Madrus or Madrus is going to 'join' Kodiak?!? 8O

Sounds Gay!

I loved F-15, it was before its time yes but damn that was a good game especially for the long flights into enemy territory.

Well, for the most part it was nothing more than a piss-take Madrus. But on the serious side of it, I was a bit narked at the comment - given that I'd seen no-one attempt to play Falcon SP4.1 in some 2 months or more, it provided an ideal opportunity to check out something we might all benefit from, as a group/team. But I also understood your stance on FreeFalcon. Everything is intended in a light-hearted sense, so please don't get offended, mate. :P I DO realise that sometimes my humour IS a little dry and may come across wrong, but offending my friends here - especially you - is not my intention. And I DO take note of your point on when we decide to play online - I have also recently advocated my support for that way of thinking when we DO play  , so in some respect I also feel a little embarrassed and don't want this to look as if I am obstructing the very thing I have given my support to.

No, USAF has an official patch, my disc version is 1.01, and the patch is 1.02.

Thanks for the response Kodiak. No problems here mate.

Hammer, i am sure you are correct. i prefer the 1.02 patch for USAF. That is what i have on my 98 SE computer. unfortunately i have not moved my 98 se computer. so all i can do is play USAF on my current/xp computer.

Ok getting back to the original topic (Janes F/A18 Mission) i would love to join in on that but since you are going to be using the Iraq pack which requires Janes F-15 i will have to take a side line as this is one game i do not have and will therefore not be able to join in.

Would love to get back into Janes f-18 as well since it was the game i started out with in WOF and Madrus was the first guy i had an OL flight with.

I can't find the TSH 2.0 download link in the Janes Forum. I guess I will go hunting online for it.

Well Hammer has his BB connection going now, so there's some progress for you, AND he even has a decent graphics card! 8)
Taalking of new people joining, I have a colleague (golfing buddy) who visits now and again, and I ONLY just found out he flight sims! 8O MSFS 2002? I think he said, and I am trying to encourage him to join and try some other flight sims such as Falcon 4. That would give us another pilot this side of the pond. Madrus, I'll probably point him in your direction to begin with given his MSFS interest since you seem to be running with that in the campaign side of things? That's if he decides to get started with us. He'll have the website address tomorrow, but won't be able to even look at it until at least late evening as they fly back to Scotland in the early hours. He is very much of a mature attitude, even though he's fairly young, he is definitely not run'n'gun for sure. Well, let's see if he's interested first, eh?

two things:

1. Madrus do you have JF-18 manual and if so is there anyway you can send me a copy of the Mission Editor section.

2. TSH 2.0. Where in the hell can I find it or can someone send it to me.
