Hi all, bad news from me my thrustmaster joystick is broke
i ended up doing instant 90 degree rolls at the most akward of times (ie lining up for a bomb run and carrier landings) imagine your down to 135 knots al lined up for a good trap on the ronald reagan and the next thing your upsidedown landing gear in the air and heading for an unexpected bath!!!
So i've looked at some of the posts and have invested in a Saitek X-45 which should be with me in a couple of days and i am hoping that it will last longer than my old one (4 months!!!)
At least i'll have a half decent stick and a great improvment on my carrier landings (presently trying to land on the carrier with a 2 button 2 axis joystick and trying to control the throttle the key board not good!!)
Hope to be up to your standards soon and in a flight

Bummer...
I have one I want to get rid of that is basically brand new...
I like the stick a lot, but I have two Saitek USB devices and they do not play well together...so I changed out to a Thrustmaster F22 Pro/TQS/Elite pedals setup and kept my Saitek GM2.

Well Guys I've been a happy but frustrated pilot this week, I took delivery of my new stick on tuesday but programming seems to be a nightmare!
Have been at it all week with some success but when i program it for Jf-18 even on a limited scale the remianing controls on the keyboard go haywire,
I'll just have to struggle on and see what i can do.
On another note about not being able to use the stick with Win XP i got the latest sofware release with the X45 and on the outside of the box it clearly states that it now includes XP compatability! but on doing a bit of Net surfing i find the X45 is seemingly plagued by programming problems, have any of you had any probs with this(i am still running on 98SE).

Alls well that ends well! It works i got the X45 programmed and everything seems to be working as it should, no more looking down at the keyboard and fumbling on the + & - keys for poor throttle control for me!!
Carrier landings are SO much easier its amazing and got my first ever Tanker hook up in Full Real Tolerance and Time, I've never sweat so much just sitting in a chair in my life!! Dont know if i could repeat it though!! LOL
Just have to remeber what button does what!!
Now where is that Eject button???

Ok here is the script! i have X45 with 98SE working great, the Software SST provided with it say it now supports XP and i have spoken to a few guys on the net that say they have had no problems running the X45 with the SST programming software with XP, but if you still can't the X45 to run on XP then i suggest you goto
http://saitekhelp.simhq.com/index.htm
there you can get different drivers and programming language for the X45 that lets you run on XP and seemingly give you more programming abilities with the X45.
As for Yanking (i take it thats what you meant!) the viper around with you guys i'd love to! but since you all have Falcon 4 as your main sim and i'm still bumming around with Jf-18 and just about to get my own copy of F4 ( i am trying to source a copy with the full manuals as i have been told that the only copies available easily have edited verions only)
i think it will be a couple of weeks at least, before i can join you guys and then i'll be needing a lot of training from you Raptor, although i do have copies of Patch 1.08 and SP3 as well as other patches already downloaded but still in zip form ready for when i get my hands on a copy of F4
Looking forward to flying on your wing guys
Wait a minute what's that an SU-27!!! see ya later got company
