i don't really like this idea. If you want something like this why don't you go play MPBT3025 instead? And besides, how will they prevent cheating?

I'm with Bongo on the cheating thing. I was in a game recently that had a supposed 55 ton (not controlled by the host) cap. In the game was a Mad Cat! The guy steated he had reduced the tonnage by dropping armour and weapons. Call me an old cynic but it performed like a regular Cat to me.

You can't expect everyone to follow an honor code. There are other ways to cheat. How can you tell the difference between LRM15-20, Different LBX clan/is, the # of heat sinks, extra points of armor, and a notch higher of speed?

In NBT they have a log of what happens and what mechs carry, does MLL have the same thing?

I can talk to the peeps that run NBT4, they have a server side app that logs all weaps and chassis to a callsign and logs it, that log can then be checked for inconsistencies - that is how they make sure that clan tech is on clan mechs and is tech is on is mechs. cheaters can be caught.

personally I like the idea - too bad thay can not (?) change the looks of the 'mechs (skins?).

I think that's a good idea. brings a whole new level to the playing field. i wouldn't mind gettin those mechs if someone could send those my way.

Hi everyone, I'm the dude that made those configs and sadly they won't be used...

Hails all, as to the mechs Heretic, just uplaod them to the MLL section on the intranet. we can then all download them from there at our leasure. thats what the tool is there for :razz:. im not sure how i feel about this ruleing or the play aspect of it. it could be fun. or it could be a drag. its a big undertakeing thats for sure. and would MLL be willing to host their own server for every war? thats something they would have to decide. as to the designer of the mechs, why wont they be used?
