Guys, got this in Email from Az, Figured I'd pass it along.
Hello, and good day to you all. As some of you already know, my father
suffered a major heart attack yesterday. Actually, he went into cardiac
arrest and died in my arms for a good 3 min. Just before he passed, he
looked at me with the saddest eyes I have ever seen. While the rest of his
body was temporarily paralytic, his eyes searched my face as if he wanted me to help him; and, as much as I wanted to, I couldn't. It was by far the hardest thing I have EVER EVER had to endure. The medics arrived at my house soon after and revived him.
He was rushed to the hospital were he immediately under went an
angyoplasty. An artery in the lower left of his heart was completely clogged (so no more McDonalds for him). His blood pressure was deathly low at this point, and blood was empting into his body from an unknown leak. They stopped the blood thinners and gave him a blood transfusion. They gave him abut 8 units of blood, and it stooped the internal bleeding almost immediately.
Today, they hooked him up to a dialisis-type machine to help get some of
the extra fluids out of his body. Due to all these extra fluids, he has
sustained damage to his kidnies. We dont know how much yet, but the doctors speculate it shouldnt be too much. They drained about 3 litres out of him and still need to get about 8 more out. They want to do a cat scan to make sure there is no brain damage, but they cant move him yet. The doctors doubt there is any damage to the brain, but still need to do tests to confirm it.
His vitals are steady as of tonight, but my family and I are taking it 1
hour at a time. Hes not in the clear yet.
On the upside, the doctors said the parts of the heart that were damaged
are pumping strongly and can be taken off the machine thats helping it beat as soon as tomorrow. He isn't breathing on his own yet, but that may too be coming off soon. Yet while, things are getting better, we still have a long road ahead of us. If you could all please keep him in your prayers and thought, it would be MUCH appreciated.
Sounds like things may have turned the corner
