<S> all,

I wanted to pass along some info about a cool movie clip. A BattleTech buddy of mine recently showed me a really great movie clip (about 6 min. long) produced by some amateur digital film makers in Germany. You can download or watch it at this site:

www.hackermovies.com

The movie I am talking about is called "Combatant". You can find the movie by using the search function on the web site. It's a big file at 17 meg or so, so this is something that's more of interest to the broadband folks out there.

The movie isn't perfect, but considering that it's "no budget", it's pretty amazing. There are actually two versions of the movie as well as some "the making of" information.

If you check it out, I hope you like it. Sorry if this is a repeat of an earlier post.

I'm glad you guys are liking it, too. I thought the Solaris angle was cool, too. I also thought she did a very convincing job of looking terrified in the opening part of the clip, when she slid down that embankment. I'm like a lot of folks that would like to see a "real" BTech movie, but when I think about how much Hollywood would screw it up, I just end up hoping they leave it alone.

That one has been there for a while, I lost the link some time back, but now I have it.
:)

You should check out "the making of" on this movie, pretty cool. Makes you wonder why there aren't more Mech movies.
Solaris? I reckoned it was a Clan trial or something on Strana Mechtny (Mad Dog).

VERY cool. Thanks for that Firemane, thats a wee nugget you dug up there :D

Kinda whets the appetite for a longer version but as pointed out it would be better if tinseltown didnt get its grubby paws on it.

That was a cool little flick. I agree the Hollywood has a tendency to screw things up but give Ridley Scott or Lucas some BT books and tell them to go for it I say...I want mechy on big screen :rockin:
