I have never logged in automatically. Yes, I checked the box. All I do have to do though, is type 'F', click on my name, and submit. I guess that really isn't automatic, but it works for me.

Well, we have gone through this before and someone ended up leaving the unit because I told them the auto login feature was in fact working properly, they did not believe me and became hostile. It does indeed work properly. I hope you don't mind my telling you this.
You do have to ensure you allow cookies from this site (rlgaming.com - it is safe - you will never get adverts from rlgaming.com nor will we use any data for such a thing).
You have to access the forum properly, meaning the URL has to be the correct one. There are several ways to get to an internet site, one being FQDN and another being i.p. address. This forum is set to use the FQDN and not the i.p. address. So your link (favorites or otherwise) to this forum must use the FQDN and not the i.p. address of the server.
I will almost guarantee that you are accessing this forum via the i.p. address and directory name rather than the FQDN and directory name. It is likely that you got said link from the actual ELH web site, which Lancer has not had time to fix (said link) yet...
So the answer is to use this link:
elh/phpBB/
to access the forum. Once you do so do the log in thing and check the box, then save it into your favorites overwriting the old one. You should be set.

Same for me Fethr, letter 'G' then my name appears. Click on it and the password goes in automatically. I actually prefer this as my nephew uses my machine when im at work.
I remember this subject reared its head a few months back when a fellow Light Horseman (now ex) had the same problem. As far as i remember it never got resolved and Steel done everything he could to change it. I guess were stuck with it, which as i said suits me fine.

I guess I really don't want to be logged in automatically anyways. What if I want to be somebody else and post?

It is the actual text that goes into the cookie... The forum software does not do DNS lookups, so it can not translate the i.p. address you have in the URL to the FQDN that the forum is set for... So the i.p. address text string does not match the fqdn text string, i.e. '209.75.98.160' does not equal '
www.rlgaming.com'. The URL in your browser must match the URL in your cookie - if they do not match it will not log you in automatically.

OK, figured out my problem.
(among many)
I access the forum through Autocad. and right click on the banner above.
That shortcut uses the IP address.
Sooo...
Still not an auto login for me.
Guess I'll quit screwin with the forum and get back to work. :play

Feather,
IF you want an auto login, click on this link and save it to your favorites:
elh/phpBB/index.php
You should then go through the log in sequence once (make sure you click on log me in every time) and you should be good to go, as long as you use your favorite link (the one you just saved) to access the forums.
Autocad???

Oh yeah, hehe
CADD program at the office, it has some fancy GUI that pops up whenever I fire it up. I'm supposed to use it to access the company's graphic standards on the intranet, and I think Hulk set up an official BBS for us to access as well. Once I figured out how to change the path for the BBS, was easy to substitute the ELH forum. That's why I only check the forums from the office. It gives me a little preview of the main page, and I usually open site in a new window using the banner above. And if the boss or somebody checls up on me, I'M WORKIN! Yeah, I know I know, I'm a bad boy, but it's all the contact I get with you guys any more.

Oh yeah...I remember now. It actually replaces the O.S. on the box... Is there e-mail functionality in it as well???
You may not actually want to use auto-login from work, in case someone else uses the PC...
