All,
many of you know I went to this event this last weekend. I had a great time, and it was an honor to work with Col. McKnight the entire weekend. Some of my troops are getting me teary-eyed reading their thanks:

They all did a great job, and made the weekend definitely one of the best airsoft events I have been to...

Adding a link to a few shots of folks that were at the game. No action stuff yet, but I am sure it will come soon...

This gal was my second squad leader.

BB,
Airsoft over paintball? That is easy. Realism... And the type of folks that generally play airsoft are VERY different that the type that play paintball, at least around here. Airsoft is a milsim sport - period. Some specific points: Proper military uniforms/gear, the weapons look/feel like real ones, it is an honor-bound (for the most part - those that are not honoest are quickly seperated out from the crowd and made quite "unwelcome") sport, no run and gun CS type unrealsitic crap, folks involved want to learn proper tactics/military procedures, age group/maturity differences, and probably some others as well...

Most airsoft scenarios have some type of medic rules...or at least govern respawns.

They have respawn points at a minimum, and on the sophisticated end I have seen where medics call in hit people (radio) and the admin crew tells the medic if the person is RTD (return to duty) or KIA... This caused medics to be extremely valuable as you could do nothing unless a medic got to you. Teammates could drag/carry you to safety for the medic to get to, or the medic could come to you under fire...just like in RL.

And I am not saying all paintball players/games are not up to par...we have a LOT of converts that swear they will never play paintball again...they even sell off all of their paintball gear.
