Graphic Signatures for ELH Personnel

And so it begins...

I know this is gonna come out the wrong way however I phrase it, so here goes.

I have always enjoyed the ELH forums without out all the "visual stimuli". There are so many forums out there that have become tag galleries, in that the tags, do more harm because they distract from the intent of the posts. I'm the type that likes to READ the forums, and if I can do this with a minimal amount of scrolling, YIPPEE! Maybe Sundance could be in charge of setting basic ground rules governing tags? (Size, Animation, language, content, etc.)
There. I think I got my point across without being a sarcastic ass.

P.S. Cool Tag, Sundance! rather subdued compared to a majority out there on the WWW. But really, I like it.

Fair square with you there Feather. I can totally understand the use of sigs on public forums but in our own house? Will it not just be ELH sigs or avatars?

Aye , That’s a nice Avatar you got there Sundance. I’m not really bothered with it , on the other hand “ I was waiting for the ELH High command to say something about it “ Heh . I had to get permission to add my Forum Mechs here a while back because I didn’t want to make anyone unhappy with it. I throw in all the smilies I can find (and I got allot) because they are small and so far I’ve been getting away with it. I know some of these people in here need to lighten up a bit , but they do have a point when it comes to Avatar overflow. Like I said , yours is nice , but that can lead to people using other Avatars that are really annoying. If we keep it to ELH Avatars then that would be cool. Im not looking forward to seeing a post with an Avatar of some big ass Hairy looking beast , or a Wicked Scull with glowing eyes , heh. So we just keep it simple here. I’m about done with my Smilie page @ http://users.adelphia.net/~im_falker/ , Just need to add the forum code and think of a new menu list. If you want ,.. add all the smilies you like. Cuz I do !! .....

Hey Sundance, if you want to make some cool animated ones, =CMO=Patrick was using something called "Swish". It turned out some pretty cool animations with music even. If you'd like more info I could pass it on to you. I wouldn't mind a banner, but I haven't the foggiest for content. Something annoying springs to mind.

A couple of observations on Signature pics.

They can make postings look overly long and messy.

They are extremely irritating for modem users and even for broadband users if the forum is "slow" (I find the ELH forum group quite slow loading even using works 2MB pipeline)

They can be overly competetive.

Adding Music to them if done incorrectly can crash your browser and even if done correctly having multiple sound added signatures on the same page Will crash your browser.

They take up a huge amount of forum space which can result in a number of things including. The host being charged for space or bandwidth. Crashing the forum. reducing the amount of available subjects and the period in which they are retained.

They can be percieved as arrogant.

I dont want a sig tag for these forums....I want them for other forums.
I'm all for saving Steels bandwidth, but league forums are fair game.

I’d like to say that you got Balls to post up your pic like that Sundance. I know your thinking that the hell with it and you want people to know you don’t want to hide , so why hide? However this is not the place to place you pic here with out permission. Okay , We used to have a member of ELH that acquired a picture of the crew called STINKER. I gave in after awhile and gave her my pic also , because we were becoming like family back then.. I’m only saying this because I like you and I wish you wouldn’t get this” I don’t Give A Fuc#k Attitude” when it comes to the rest of us. No I’m not mad or anything , I’m just trying to send you a message that we have a Protocol here that we follow and we need to take steps instead of leaps before we commit to just going over board and saying the hell with it. ELH is a good bunch of guys , and I have been with them for over 6 years. Fether and Black Hawk before me. , Fether is the Die Hard tho hehe. That guy has been wearing An ELH uniform since I came into M3L back in 1996.

Anyway , I just got back form the Margarita Villa with my brother Striker ( aka ELH member from long ago) and we talked and had too much to drink ,It was fun. One thing I had my mind on ( beside the women) was telling Sundance to Chill a bit and hang out for a few. Sometimes I fell Like I’m restrained from showing my true Emotions and have to keep this Suave and dignified appearance to keep up with all the people around here that would like to sabotage my forum post. It sucks , but well… what can you do. I’ve known these guys for soo long that it would be hard to go anywhere else. I’ll die here as a Mech Warrior before I join another Clan and give up ELH for good. I have joined other clans to bring their attention to doing battle with ELH in the past. But I never left here completely. And that’s the truth. Before I sign off , I’ll post one of my old pictures of me from a few years ago { I’m clean shaving now tho : ) ). I’d appreciate it if the Forum Masters would leave this String up for a few days before cleaning out some old space BTW: I saw Stinker here a few weeks ago on Kali. , I think it would be cool to get another person of us here and get all of our Pictures and add them to a single page. I’ll do it , but that sounds like something more suited for a female.

Dammit Falker you've made me go all sentimental now, There's no-one left in ELH from when I originally joined. (waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)

I might just have to go and dig out the kalikids picture and shed a tear or two.

Seriously though, signature pics can create problems, although Buff's idea of creating an ELH signature pic for league forums sounds excellent.

I got em feather, i just recently ( within this last week) got my MS office working right... now i can actualy open my outlook email and retrieve the data i used to create the Bios page that went down... if anyone has a regestered copy of illuminatus Opus Pro. they can open it up and send it back to me to upload after it gets a different cigniture on it and it would stay up... but since i used a evaluation version of the program the sites i created went down soon after the program's time expired. i will see if i cant get the data compiled and setup and have it ready. however this weekend im playing mechanic again

so not sure if i can get to it yet... But i have been working on the problem some.... so i hope to get something up again, except this time its going to be HTML! damit! lol.

That’s Odd , I’ve looked on both my hard drives and a few back up CD’s I have here and I can’t find Kali Kids anywhere . I also thought I had it at a photo album on the net and it’s not there either. I had both versions of it but not anymore. Like “POOF” and its gone. I have other photos of Mav , Lich , BH sitting on some dinosaur tail , GB white guy , and a few photos of MW2 with Pain in his elemental suit standing on the head of Penny’s Dire Wolf, and War cry shooting it out in his Warhammer. Oh well , Next time I see a familiar face on Kali I’ll see if I can get the DL from them. . Lots of old time MW pilots on the Kali Kids Photo. Some that are still with us today. Sry Mal , I had no Idea you were here so long ago. I forgot to Mention Mince also. It’s easy to forget when you’ve just came back from 50 cent 16 Oz beer night at Margarita Villa . I kept asking for Bud Light , but Striker kept buying me Coors Light. Ack , the headache beer.
