Medic!!!!!!
Well, my PC died yesterday....wont boot. I tells me there are no hard drives attached so no boot....well this is exactly what it was doing before I replaced the power unit. I put a good Antech power supply in too....damnit! If it's just the power thing I'll be back up this weekend...it if more major it will have to wait till next month...
I can check in here from work....but it may be a while before I can fix this.

Buff,
Try disconnecting and reconnecting all of your hard drive cables... Also, if you leave the cover off while you are powering up, listen to see if your hard drive spins up (newer ones are pretty quite, you might need to touch it to feel for vibrations or keep your ear close).
Do you have the latest bios on your motherboard? Did you lose other bios settings (like time and date)? If so your on board battery may be dead and need replacing...

I'll give that a try but my guess is that there is no power going to the HD's (I have 2 60 gig) so it's not finding the boot.
I goes....detecting..............
ata100 harddisk not found (or something like that)
anyway...it did this exact same thing the last time and the new power unit fixed it....I guess these tings are like alternators....some work for life...some die in the drivway of the mechanic.
On a side note....it let me play like 5 hours of Halo on my Xbox....damn those small creepy crawly things....ick!

i had that problem once and it was the stupid ass power plugs... it frustrated me to no end till i went down and found some addin plugs that you press onto the power lines then pluged the HDs into them, it worked great after that till the power box DID blow, (puff of smoke even) also one thing to consider. sometimes somehow i had my CMOS settings go screwy on me once and it was set not to auto search for the HDs so they wouldnt show up.
I also had that problem after I reformatted. I went into BIOS and checked to see if Bios recognized my HDD and it did. But for the life of me I couldn’t get my HDD to load up as a first boot devise. So I went and bought another one and it worked great. Then I switched the Jumper on my old one to use as a secondary HDD , and it came back on line as D drive. I’d try Steels HDD remedy before you buy a new one tho.

A few years back I saw a post in a mag where a guys PSU blew up, BH style, and actually caught fire! So he puts the fire out and claims on the warranty. The company tried to weasle out of the deal by saying he had 'null and void' the warranty because he fired an extingusher into the PSU! :-?
Is this 'dry humping' your PC a 21st thing? And I thought my guys were weird!
