Victory on Callison

Post by Buffalo Six »

I just wanted to say excellant job on the W!O last night on Callison. In case you didnt hear....we beat FWL last night 4-1. They were very fun drops and everyone that helped me out did so in fine fashion. Even the guys that just came on at the end 6A, Benn, Stache....excellant jobs.

Brief recap:
1st Drop - tried to play the range game on them, the commander (me) then got a brain cramp, got dumb and got dead.....FWL won

2nd Drop - Throwing the range gameplan out the window, we took a mix of range and brawler and advaced to contact, closed, and tore them up....ELH win.

3rd, 4th, 5th drops see drop #2.....ELH wins :worship

So...excellant job last night gents....we get to do it all over again tonight agaist the same mob.....see you dirtside!

sounds like a fun one guys, Good job on the wins!

as to tactics, well if anyone has noticed my quote thats the general way i feel about tactical situations.

there are few that have been with me while ive been leading a drop. i imagine to some, it was stressfull becuse of the lack of info. im realy not sure what to do about those folk who wish to have more guidence while in battle but it is my beliefe that all the guidence should be done before the drop and the only reason for coms during a drop would be point out contacts and to do minor change of plans. i also try not to dictate too much on what weapon mix to take and how to use them, each pilot is different then the other. even my piloting would feel very strange and restictive to someone else. while it may seem cavalier and brash to someone else. it would be interesting to see what would happen if we tried to simplify some of our tactical planing for a few and see the results in wars. it is highly possible my view on this is wrong for the most part and just happens to work for certian pilots who also react in similar ways i do, i realy dont know, but, would be cool to find out :)

the biggest thing i see to give out KUDOS on, is the fact that you all didnt try beating a dead horse with a broken stick and use the same tactics again and again. it looks the like the sudden choice to change tactics worked great. even though it may not work in EVERY war, it is a big step in the right direction i feel. the ability to be adaptive is a life saver. for example if you watch how i play sometimes, mainly in fun games. i will try one approach for awhile and if it dosnt give a desired reslut i will try something different. i know alot of pilots do this, however i have seen a few who dont.

im sorry i missed the bash but im glad you guys got some serious a$$ kicking in! good job!
