I regret being the person saying this but MekTek would like to officially make a statement regarding the death of a man that single handedly created this community nearly 10 years ago. That man is none other then Robert G. Robinson (aka Whytewulv) owner of Badkarma.

News of Rob's death came as a shock but not a surprise. Playnet.com rang my phone with the news of Rob's death and that they were going to be taking the server offline April 15th. This news came as a saddened shock, apparently Rob's friend had informed Playnet that Badkarma's owner had passed away. I personally have been unable to contact Rob for close to a year along with all of the MekTek staff whom have tried as well as Rob's friend Rich whom we have been in contact with since we moved MekTek.net to the Badkarma.net server.

Shortly after Rob pledged to host MekTek.net he had informed myself and Fearless that he was taking a short vacation, Rob had also stated that he'd been suffering from depression.... That was almost a year ago. We have been fearing the worst about Rob for some time now, like I said news of his death is a shock but not a surprise. Rob's home in Florida has been reported to be have been boarded up for almost a year and his neighbours have claimed to have no knowledge of his where abouts. MekTek.net has also been in procession of this information for almost 6 months.

According to state laws, a person needs to be dead for 50 years before their name will be released to the general public upon request. We have requested this information and this is what we have been told.

The evidence MekTek can offer to the community of Rob's death is obvious. Upon viewing of Badkarma.net's site you will notice the lack of updates. If you try to contact Rob via email you will recieve no response, finally if you look Rob up on AT&T and phone his cell you will find that his cell has been disconnected.

With Badkarma facing disconnection, MekTek.net and Rob's best friend and co-owner Rich have vowed to bring Badkarma.net online with MekTek.net on our new server with a freshly updated Badkarma site. We plan to establish a tribute to Rob (aka Whytewulv) and all he did for our community.

A tear drips from my eye as I type this, Rob you will always be ever lasting in this community.

I would like to invite everyone to take a moment and go to Badkarma's .Plans and read Whytewulv's .Plans for if it wasn't for this man; MekTek probably would not be here. Infact the shape of our community would not exist without the strong and heavy influence of Robert G. Robinson - Dead in 2002

With the donations you have been sending MekTek we will be setting up MekTek.net and Badkarma.net as a living tribute to Whytewulv. Our goal is to reach $2500 US, depending on Server costs MekTek may be hosting a Mechwarrior tournament where the prize shall be cash. In much the same fasion where Quake3 tournaments have been held in the past. The prize will be money. We are thinking $500 US as a prize, we shall name the tourament after Whytewulv if we manage to collect the cash.

Support us and we'll support you!

BK and MekTek have been such a fundamental part of the Mechwarrior community, it's hard to imagine what thigs would have been like without them. Will they still be around after the 15th?
