After playing in the Leeds system half the day , I was breaking about even on credits. So I decided to go out the back door to another system called Edinburgh that has twin suns and a purple space background. ( looks neat) I found some good bounty contracts there and was able to save up a lot of credits. Deep in system past a mining station was a planet called Gaia with a Luxury Cruise liner in orbit. I flew past the Cruise Liner checking out the system and heading towards the other side of the planet. I was ambushed half way around by them Outcast again. A swarm of 5 came swooping in on me. I thought they had me , but I got lucky and barley made it out. I kept going around the planet Gaia and docked with the Cruise Liner. They had some expensive food there. I could have retired from the cargo profits back in Manhattan , That is if the Liberty Police weren’t after me there. I talked to the Equipment Dealer there and found that I Tractor Beamed in one of the Outcaste particle guns after the our space Battle. . A Pyros ( Type 4 ) Sweet. I had it mounted on my Cargo ship before leaving the Cruise Liner. Going to pick up a few more bounties here before heading back to meet up with Judi. She’s been waiting for me on New London a few solar systems over.


This games kind of addictive. I’ve played nothing else since I got the full version a few days ago. It’s nice to travel to several dozen systems throughout the galaxy. Some of them look real neat with some cool space music in the background.

Still no joystick support? I tried the demo, and spent like 15 minutes sliding the mouse all over my desk (and actually knocking stuff OFF the desk) while trying to shoot an enemy fighter. Otherwise, it seemed pretty cool.

hehe Tach, ive always have had limited space either due to the size of the desk or the stuff my wife likes to stack on it... so i went to trackballs. my first one was one from radio shack. loved the damn thing. was small worked great for mw2. however radio shacked quite getting them in or maken them or something, havnt seen one in over 4 years now. i would rebuild mine refitting guides for the ball and stuff. but the poor ball got pitted and would work on the rollers lol. so i went to the logitech marble mouse. its realy nice not haveing ot move it around on a desk i tell ya.

as to free lancer news. its a great game, buit i cheated about half way threw. sometimes the story line gets so good i have to lol. im playing it again and at level 1, got my transport ship. going to look for a nice heavy fighter and do a bit more exploring this round.

Falker when we get better at this maybe we can try finding a good online server that you can fight pilots and stuff HEHE.

Reached Pilot Level 24 Today , Going back to the Luxury Liner “ Shetland “ to pick up some Steaks . They’ll bring in some nice credits back at Manhattan. I hope they like them : ) Working on becoming a millionaire soon. I have been updated to a Heavy Fighter the last few missions. I don’t think the hostiles will pose a threat for me here in this sector. This should be a cake walk. Looking forward to seeing that slick chick Juni again. I don’t think were done with out business , yet. Them Aliens are gone for now , But I think they’ll be back.

Dont do it Slammy! I picked it up on Friday and have played nothing since then. Of course this unstable POS I call a PC crashes all the F'ing time with this game it is very cool.

for anyone who wants to make alot of money in the begining of hte game :
in the NEW YORK system take the time to expore 6C - 6E specificly 6C there are derilict ships out there and you can get alot of salvage. in 6C you will find a rogue ship with the illigal drug cardamine. if you read the news services you know how popular that is in manhattan. hehe. go get it boys i found that the first go around, but i noticed there is a list of derilict ships in that link i gave.

The action has sort of slowed down these last few days after kicking some Alien Butts. I’m Here Waiting on some new missions ( with Juni ) to get back in action. Mean While ,… I’ve bought the best Cargo ship , ( Over In The German Sector ) to make some $$$ ) , Then went back around counter clock wise through the Galaxy to the Japanese and British sectors. ( good cash flow , if you know where to look ) After going full circle , I have acquired some good credits and came back to the Germans to buy me the best Heavy Fighter on the Grid . ( The German Heavy Fighter , with optional 8 class weapons ) Sweet. Nothing left to do now but Map out the Galaxy and try to find some new Jump Holes that lead to the Right side of the Galaxy. The Green side.

I’ve finally found a jump hole in Segma 13 sector after cruising around. It leads to Segma 19 that ( after searching around ) leads to Omicron. Them guys are tuff over there. I have Class 8 Weapons On my Bad Ass Heavy Fighter , unfortunately them guys over there are mean , and I’m feeling equity matched.. I’ve found Class 10 Weapons the last few jump holes back ( from an Old Imperial Navy Freighter In Segma 13 , next to the new Berlin Jump Hole ) , and have been hording them to see when I could use them , .. or see what I can eventually mount them on. ( A Class 10 Heavy Fighter ? ) That would be Sweet. I think That’s the only way I’m going to make my way over to the Green Sector and hold off them Hostiles. That is, unless Juni gets back to me and we have one last mission together over there. We Shall See. But for now, They don’t want me over there.

I’ve had Sound Problems with this game. ( It slows up my Video also) However , After I installed XP …. with the new XP sound drivers , My sound works great now. I really think you’ll need to have DX 9 Installed with XP in order for this game to work properly.


Oh Yeah , You’ll need to shoot at the derelict Navy Ships to catch the Cargo. Nope , you wont get to slavage the ship , just the cargo

Whelp , After Formatting and installing XP again , For some reason I had to install Netscape 7.0 to view Lancers Web Page and find the functioning Forum link. Unfortunately , That not the worst of it,…. I lost My Documents after the new install.

Please remember to move them files to another space on your computer if you have to do an install. Otherwise, .. your going to start out with a fresh “ My Documents” ( with nothing in it ) when your done. Dang , I lost a years worth of porno’s and several movies , Not to mention my web page stuff.. Drat. ( Wait , still going here,.. ) I also lost my saved games form FREELANCER ! ARRRRRGGGGHHHhhhhh. !! . I believe that’s where they were. So okay , you guys can tell me what’s up now with this game. in the coming days till I catch back up with ya . I’m going to haft to start all over again : / Well , at least Juni will be with me. Heh


On the brighter side: My computer is working fine once more. Looking forward to seeing you fellows in combat one of these days : ) Mean while , I’m building a Mouse Joy sick style Thingy for TD. I’ll elaborate Later.

after much playing of the demo (and flying about in a rhino freighter with a lot of lavablade turrets) i've decided this is a game i must have ...i look 4ward to even more big ships and big guns!!

Falker it was probably because the buttons on the site are Java script and you have to d/l a Java 'reader' for XP.

Maybe one day I'll do the buttons in Flash but it sort of grates on me that Bill woke up and said "lo go amongst the host and tell them Java is dead".
