put it this way hound, I have a stuffed TUX on top of my pc here at work,a nd a poster at home of him :D

If you need a hand, even if I do not know, I have enough books on it that I can find out.

?? whch version of linux u grab ????

Also recomend getting some of the o'rily books. I find them to be some of the best linux books. :salut: :gulp: :salut: :gulp:

I have TWO Linux distros on my PC - Mandrake Linux 9.0 and Lycoris Desktop LX (build 46).

If not for all the dang Windows games, I'd chuck Windows out the, uh, window.

I did once get GTA3 to run in Mandrake using WineX, but with a dreadfully slow framerate.

BTW, a great resource of 'how to do stuff' can be found on Google Groups. Look under alt os linux - there are several specific distros. I've found mass quantities of useful info in the mandrake group.

Well wine takes up 30% system resorces (on normal apps) . I forget which speed desk top this was rated on. Tho this a little older stat. If you have a realy new pc, and lots of ram (me 2800 xp processer, with 1 gig pc3200 ram) would handle most games now with wine. tho I still run win 2000. Goign to convert my athlon 650 to a strignt linux box soon. Got some dev work want to do.

i have a athlon 650 that is dying to ahve liu run on it
and dam it I keep gettiing side tracked by porn, .... I mean by um um reading up on diffrent types of rock, its realy interesting :D
