ok first of all, can anyone tell me if mw4m zone match been down for the last few days? i am getting that damn zone match error again. even when directly connected to the cable modem.

ok second thing is, i got a cordless router the other day. its a BLITZZ, BWA611 NetWave Base G4
802.11b 11Mbps Wireless LAN AP with 4-Port Router

ok the problem i am having is ( when zone match seems to want to work!) i see the games fine. but when i go to join i get a network error message. so, i browsed these forums here and found the ports that i would have to open up to get it to work.... WEEELLLLL... it didnt work like i thought it should. ok i understand the words FILTER/FOWARD and UDP and TCP. and all that jazz. hell i even read the damn booklet! Now this is the problem.

i go threw all the trouble of fowarding a port, all of a sudden all other ports are shut down EXCEPT the one i fowarded. so i did the whole list. the game ran, i got zone match.... games list showed up.... then clicked to join game.... then BAM network error! uhg!!!

so now i dont get web pages, cant get on kali, TS2, everything is blocked..... but hey i seen zone match! yay! so i ended up deleting all the forwarding i did and cleared the box at the bottom.... saved the config. and now im like i was when i started out. all pages work, all applications work excpet i cant join games ( when zone match shows up! )

the only problem im haveing right now rather behind the router or connected directly to the cable modem is that i cant seem to bring up zonematch. so does anyone even know if its up the last few days?

ok, update.

checked http://www.zone.com/Mech4 to see aobut zonematches... well... they are working on it tonight, but that will be at 11 PM pacific time.. i got an account and went on the zone. i mean WTH cant be worse off then with no mechy at all right? got in the zone room for mercs. found a game, joined the little game box and clikced join game. game loaded up and went to the zone match game servers page in mw4m and low and behold the dreaded zone match error again.

the only thing i want to know is do i have to go about reinstalling mercs everytime this happens? i mean geez!

anyways, im fairly stumped again.

so anyone have any other ideas i would be glad to hear them, thanks.

ok just a FYI update.

if you read the post i posted yesterday abot my windows going BOOOOM (clatter, clank, fsssszzzt!) then you know i installed the OS again. well i was screwing around with the cordless router running it becuse well, it connects at 11 Mbs and if i use my hub behind my router to bypass the router all together my network card only goes 10 Mbs. soo the cordless is faster ( old network hub) well, like i said, i was playing around with the cordless and after about a hour or two i decided ' what the hell how about a little mercs' so i put in the CD and join a few games, beat the snot out of ppl in my thorkle and got shut it down and did some more things... well low and behold i realized, hey i was on the cordless! so to make my long rambling short..... ( yea like that EVER happens) mw4m now works threw the router. strange huh? must of been something wrong with the old windows. next test is to connect the network card up to the router ( corded) and see if i can get 100 Mbs to work...

it makes sence thinking about it. i didnt setup any type of filtering in it. and its all set to let things pass. the main reason i got the router wasnt for protection but rather to allow my wife online while im on ( she chats yahoo) and due to the cramp conditions of the dinning area where i keep my puter i thought it woudl be nice if she had the option of moving it around.

if anyone is in the same delima. so far its working out ok. everyone once in awhile wife gets the disco. but i havnt so far. on thing you got to do is setup a encryption key to allow access to your cordless netork. especialy if you live in a high population area... so far ive found only 1 other cordless netowrk in range. and its now gone.
