It’s been Two weeks

Has it been two weeks already ?.......
It seems not much has changed around these parts. Ever see that old Nissan 300 ZX commercial. That kid is browsing over the car with a hand touch saying , “ Someday , ...Someday ) Next I’ll be back to stake a claim here for ownership. Maybe I could throw in some disco lights and party girls to liven up the place.
Talking about Nissans , I finally got mine up and running these last few days. I tried to rebuild the old engine but it kept requiring more and more parts. Near the end , after I found out that most of the old lifters seized on it ( about $40 a piece with 12 lifters per head) I said the heck with that. I wanted to just throw in the towel right then and there. ( or put some C4 on the fire wall and send it off a tall cliff )
Fortunately , I found a good deal on a used engine from a wrecking yard near by and hooked up on that. Thank goodness that it turned out to be a clean running smoothie. Now I have it up for sale and am tinkering with it from time to time. Lots of neighbors have noticed me out in the drive way these last few weeks. I have had a couple few of them stop by and shoot the breeze with me or ask me if I could work on their vehicle too. I think it might have had something to do with renting the engine hoist the other day. I was out there in my drive way wearing my uniform with an ASE patch strapped on the sleeve hoisting an engine in the air. Must have been an eye catcher for the for some of the regular travelers.
Any hoo , I’m starting to get to know them better. I talked to this guy around the corner from me and ended up working on his old full size Chevy Blazer. My first ever side job I think. It was an easy front main seal job. You would be amazed of the price hike in Auto labor here in California these last few years. Most of the Automotive shops around here are charging between $65 to $75 for an hours labor and upping the labor time on top of that. Guess that’s what happens when you live in a broke state.
Well , enough said . I was just in a better mood tonight and wanted to post one up. I hope all is well for you guys. I apologize for being absent from internet games. Soon as I get caught up here , I’ll start buying the latest games and catch up with ya.
Regards Falker
