i was just curious if anyone still playing the game might have some ideas as to why when i install the mektek patch i get shutter graphics... meaning it skips from white to the picture of the game and white again realy fast... ive tried all the standard stuff, re-installing the game, drivers etc. it does the same thing each time. has anyone had this happen then were able to fix it? im not against playing the game hehe. i ejoyed my mercs and still would like to play it, its just i get so frustrated at it sometimes. its either take a break or beat up computer and hunt down microsoft.... cant afford to go to prison just yet ;)

Hmm, no idea about that. Have ya checked the mektek or NBT forums? Maybe someone else has had a similar problem.

Were the MekTek Paks written with Direct X 9.0 in mind? It sounds like a Direct X conflict to me.

but i thought of that. when i installed it. mechwarrior was one of the very first things i installed after i built the system. and i didnt spend alot of time in updating untill after i found out it didnt work. ive traced it down to something in mektek. it always messes up after that install. hmmm does regular mercs play on mektek patched servers?

Even will dual installs of Mercs?
I'm curious becuase I'm finally ready to start installing some games.
Or will be as soon as Wife and girls are taken care of.
Mince has figured out I'm playing catch up from all those years of staying up till 2 or 3 AM playing Mech.
I'm pretty much falling asleep before the news is over any more, and that's when I always got on in the past.
Either that or I'm getting old and fat.

well just an update.. for some unknown reason i cant fathom, my mercs now works....

maybe it needed to sit and rest for awhile i dont know...

so between the joystick i got before my PC upgrade and the fact im 90% rust. i realy suck at mech now hehe.

oh well always a good starting place.
