MP2 release delayed?
Posted: 17 Apr 2004, 12:03
Greetings ELH-aholics! Your roving reporter Tach Deneva here with all the news that's fit to print or not! Seems someone released Top Secret info in regard to MP2 (currently in development) and thereby ticked off the nice folks at Mektek, which has led to the project being delayed.
See the following link for sketchy details:

There's a link within this NBT post that leads to the info on the Mektek site, which is evidently DOWN at the moment. Expect more on this story as details become available. Film at 11. <S>

UPDATE: Jeho Speaks (quotes supplied by an NBT poster who copied them before Mektek went down):
"Mektek is officially suspending beta testing for MP2, and perhaps
the release of MP2 altogether to teh public until the Alpha Testers
are either found or confess.
"In particular, teh information posted in the Team Banzai private
forums is particularly of interest. unfortunately, Team Banzai
will pay a heav y price of not participating in any future development
for allowing this information to be posted without permission
from mektek.
"If you know of any of the people in the alpha tester group who leaked
screenshots and the security codes for the alpha tests, please feel
free to PM any of the mektek staff members. All correspondence will remain confidential."
Jeho also had this to say:
"Also, every day I have to wait for information, one more mech will not
be deployed in MP2.
"Mech #72 is on the chopping block right now. If I do not
get a reply in 24 hours, it will not be in MP2. On down the line.
Until tehre are no mechs at all (and hence, no MP2). "
UPDATE 2: Evidently the leaked info consisted of some sort of SECURITY CODES for the work in progress. *ALL* of these security codes were posted in Team Banzai's private forums, but one of the members of TB seems to have reported the incident to Jeho. More later on most of these ELH stations.
UPDATE: Jenner IIC has been SAVED!
In a recent post on the Mektek forums, Jehosephat2k says:
"I have been informed of some great information about today's events,
so, Jenner IIC has been saved.
"The bad news is for Beta Testing, there is going tohave to be some sort
of web authentications to prevent this sort of abuse again.
"Thanks to Team Banzai for helping me sort this out!"
