I haven’t even installed it yet but it looks cool eh ? : )
I got the full game and am going to check it out sometime this weekend if I have the time.

I also have the Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic full game. ( not installed ) It says it was game of the year in it’s day. I’ll bet that’s a good one to play. I think TD was saying he might have played it awhile ago.

I've been playing Half Life 2 theses last few weeks. Good graphics but I still don’t know what I’m doing besides killing aliens and other patrol officers while moving throughout the city. I mean … What’s the point to this game anyways !? In the First one I was trying to get to the surface and escape the alien intrusion. “ Now “ I don’t know where I’m going. Just that I got to kill lots of zombies and aliens to get there.

Beyond that …

New computer upgrade …

Athlon AMD 3000 CPU

Ram = 1024DDR 72mgz

Asus 64 bit mo bo

I still don’t know what I can do with this lean machine tho. Err BH ? have you made contact with the Aliens on your fast computer yet ?

Knights of the Old Republic is an excellent game. The sequel has just come out (npt got it yet) and that is apparently good as well.

The first game was awesome tho....great storyline and nice gfx etc etc. Any Star Wars fan would love it.

KOTOR - woot! One of my all-time favorites. No MP, of course, but the gameplay, story, and characters make up for it. The story/plot is better than that of any SW movie since Empire. Heck, even the acting is better! Heh.

As for KOTOR 2, I've played it through twice already. It's also a great game, although it has a few odd little bugs here and there, although nothing game-breaking (at least not for me). A patch should be ready soon.

The biggest problem, tho, is that Obsidian *cut* mass quantities of content in order to get the game (Xbox version, anyway) on the shelves in time for Christmas, and a lot of the lost content dealt with resolving the story. The games doesn't end so much as it just sort of stops, leaving way too many plotliness unresolved, way too many questions unanswered. It's kinda like reading a good novel, only to find at the end that someone ripped out the last three pages.

Strangely enough, most of the missing content is *still* in the game - unused voice files, nearly finished areas, multiple endings - which of course has been found by players who know where to look and what to look for in the game files. As a result, there's a HUGE outcry for Obsidian/LucasArts to restore/complete all this stuff. It's a sure bet that if the game devs don't take care of this, the modding community will (which may be why the missing content was left behind; perhaps Obsidian's way of saying "Look, guys, we're sorry, but LucasArts pays the bills and we had to comply with their wishes and put out an incomplete game, but oops, we left plenty of stuff in for you guys to, uh, fix." without actually coming out and saying it.)

Score one for the Brits !

This Nexus Game is really cool. It has good graphics , easy to medium game play , and a good story line to boot. It’s when you finally leave earth solar system is when the shit hits the fan. I mean WOW. Good stuff. I think this could also be a good multi player game as well.

They have a demo for it at 3D gaming. Here’s a link that will get you there.

It reminds me of Freelancer. You have good graphics for gaming play and a nice tactical view of our Galaxy. It looks neat. . But instead of controlling your fighter craft , you get to control Battle Ships and have Alien encounters . “Yeah “ Now that’s what I’m talking about.

In the missions you can control either your own Battle Ship or a fleet of Battle Ships. You can arm them anyway you like with all kinds of devices ranging from lasers to uranium gatling guns to tactical items like EMC , or sensor arrays. You can also choose to load your ships up with however many fighter squadrons or Marines boarding parties you would like (which you also control.)

The game gets involving but It’s still easy enough to figure out. The thing is you only have so many resources per Battle ship. (( Just like MW on your Battle Mech )) You can only add so many items per ship. So ,.. Extra Fighter Squadrons ….or …. Extra Laser Cannons ,.. it’s up to you.

Figuring out the strategy is the hardest part. If you don’t get the right weapons load out or , the hanger bay equipped just right , then you may have to go back a few missions and reload with the right setup. That pissed me off a few times because I had to do that already. But I still like the game . It just takes awhile to get the hag of it.

Don’t get the 1.01 patch for the full game . It’s already been patched and is good to go at the retail stores here in America. If you add the patch to it over here , it will mess up the game and you won’t be able to play it.

I won’t say any spoilers , but you’ll really get a kick out of it when you leave our own solar sys. Good Luck.

You try it out yet BH ?

It is kind of like hegemonia :P ( I never did get the full version of that game , but I wanted too )

Lots of people in the Nexus Forum are comparing this game to Homeworld. I’ll admit that the pan around camera does resemble Homeworld , but it’s not quite Homeworld either. I like zooming in on other battle ships to see them being hammered and tore apart just before it blows. That’s sweet , and provides good eye candy for me. About the only time I found the fighter squadrons useful , was to disable the mines in one of the first missions. Other than that they get wiped out pretty fast going up against a Battle Ship. There are some bugs in the game ( I know ) but I know how to get around them for now. Hopefully they’ll come out with a 1.02 patch soon to fix it up.

Well lots of Nexus forum folks want to get on line and duke it out. I’ll join them soon , just as soon as I get better acquainted with the game. Sounds like fun.

As for KOTOR ,

I put it on hold for now. Letting the AI do combat for me was not what I was looking forward too. It’s nothing at all like Star Wars Jedi Outcast. In Jedi Outcast , .. I could sling my Light Saber all over the bad guys as much as I wanted too and have a good time doing it. : ) I guess I just need to get adjusted to games Limitations. I’m a Star Wars fan tho and will continue it at a later date.

Well, in KOTOR2 ya can learn some 'attack feat' thingees like Flurry, Critical Strike, and Power Attack (each with 3 levels), and ya learn various 'Lightsaber Forms' which are more/less effective against various types (or groups) of opponents. One, for example, is most effective vs other Jedi, while another is most effective against mulptiple opponents with blasters. Heh, ya can also boost your ability to deflect blaster shots by taking the appropriate feats (and using the proper crystals in yer saber). It's funny sometimes to just stand back and let the deflected blaster bolts wipe out the bad guys.

But the best thing I've found to do is max out the Force Push - Force Whirlwind - Force Wave power until your basically just knocking everybody back 20 or 30 feet and stunning/damaging them in the process. Sure does clear a room quick.

The first KOTOR is a true RPG classic, with a heap of memorable characters and subplots and a nice Episode IV kinda ending (if ya played a Light Side character, that is). KOTOR 2, even with the missing content, is a great game up until the end, which is a big let down because you're left sitting there thinking "Uh... what? Who? Where? Why? That's it???" The Obsidian folks have asked LucasArts if they can do a 'content patch' (which would be relatively easy for them to do, as they left a bunch of 'cut' stuff in the game files), but it's unlikely that LucasArts will let them. Even so, there are some skilled modders out there who will in due time restore the missing parts. You can already download saved games (from the Xbox version) which will let you play a couple of the more complete 'cut' areas - another planet and an important (to certain subplots) factory area.

If (or when) the missing material is restored, the game will end very much like how The Empire Strikes Back ended - lots of stuff unresolved, but with a sense of 'Okay, whew, this is where we take a rest and regroup for what's to come'. Which would be a lot better than the 'buddea buddea buddea that's all folks!' thing we have now.
