I just got my new asus mother board with the nvidia2 mcp chipset(I don't have the money to purchase a new processor, so I'm stuck with my ATHLON XP 2.3Gig processor). Now I also purchased a new Radeon 9550 256 card. Is there a conflict of interest because I can't seem to get the card to work, but anytime I put in either of my old nvidia cards everything works fine.

don't you mean compatability problem, not conflict of interest?

why don't you just say it is an asus a7n8x? it is, right?

i have one, and it works fine with ati video cards...

that sure is an old mainboard to be new... are you sure it is new and not refurb or something?

try putting in an nvidia card, then flashing to the latest bios... see if that helps. is it an 8x agp slot? is it set that way in the bios (or auto)?

Its not a new board on the market, just a never been used board. They do not make boards for SOCKET A(462) anymore since the new processors are out. I found out what the problem is, the video card is bad so I am sending that back. It actually took me about a week to get that board since they are so hard to find(there is always a wait period) and a week was the shortest one. Thanx Steel, I knew it was the card but I wanted to exhaust all my options.

I have the ASUS A7N8X Deluxe mobo at the moment, using an XP2500+ Barton CPU, clocked @ 3200. I DO need to upgrade sometime soon though. 8)

I do need to upgrade myself but the motherboard and the video card was free, care of my job so I had to work within my limitations.
