If you have the slightest interest in World War II and the Third Reich and you don't mind reading subtitles while you watch a movie, I would HIGHLY recommend this film.
Bruno Ganz plays the role of Adolf Hitler to absolute perfection. All of the actors are top notch and there are a couple of pretty good combat scenes in the flim even though that's not the focus of the movie.
This film was certainly an emotional ride for me. Some scenes were gut-wrenching to watch.

Gut wrenching? Have to say I don't find anything gut-wrenching about the "untergang" of one of the world's most infamous nutcases! Sorry, erm . . .I meant megalomaniac, have to be PC now don't we?! Nah! C'mon, we all know the bloke was a friggin fruitcake.

Well certain scenes like where Magda Goebbels poisons all her children with cyanide capsules as they are sleeping is certainly something I would consider to be gut-wrenching!

Well tyhere are several ways to look at that kind of scenario. One could consider he to have been very compassionate, given what the future held at that moment for her children. They would have no doubt ended their days in a not quite so manner, once it was discovered who their parents were. Even in such modern times, you can still see the barbaric nature of the human mind at work. Bosnia, Kosovo have their own harrowing tales of barbaric murder/genocide of 'innocents'. Even after the conflict, the hate between the various factions rages on behind the scenes. So, in some respects there are fates worse than death.

You want to see the creepiest movie about WWII on the german side.....
Watch "Consphereicy" (ok...butchered the spelling) where a bunch of lawyers, SS, and party brown shirts determine how to solve the "Jewish problem" over fine food and wine.
All the parts are well played but the whole thing was surreal......
I was jsut on HBO or one of those channels last week

That sounds amazingly similar to another German movie called "The Wannsee Conference". It came out when I was in high school and it's an excellent film.
