But I can't play all my games on a Linux box so I could care less! If the day ever comes when ALL my pc games can run on Linux, I'll then consider switching OS.

Still pretty cool. Yeah it would be nice if Microsoft, the satan of modern technical industry, would loosen it's iron grasp on the software industry...ah well. I think linux is pretty cool and glad to see it being used for something useful.

yes, it can not do everything. i would run it at home if i could play my games on it. oh well...
Which came first?

Game developers would write more games for Linux if more desktop users would adopt Linux, and turn a profit for their effort.
Desktop users would adopt Linux if games developers would write more games for it.
Which is gonna come first, the chicken or the egg? Perhaps we should all bend over and crap an egg?

It perhaps requires that we all simply stand up and break out of our shells (or the shell that Microsoft has made for us?)

Figure of speech, but it does show you that there is definitely a monopoly for MS in that part of the market.
Not a monopoly...

The number of games available for Linux is slowly rising, Take a look at this site:
http://www.tuxgames.com/
Quake 3, Quake IV, Doom 3, UT2003, UT2004, Medal of Honor, Never Winter Nights, Wolfenstein, and plenty more.
This company is actually responsible for rewriting a lot of games, so that they run on Linux:
http://www.lokigames.com/
And, with this companies program
http://www.transgaming.com/ it is possible to run some Windows games on Linux, including the likes of Everquest, GTA3: San Andreas, and so on. I would not recommend this for the faint of heart though. More often than not, it will probably end in a screaming fit that includes somewhere in it the phrase, "WHY WONT MY F*ING GAME RUN!!!"
You will also notice that none of the games Wings Of Fury has used recently seems to be available for Linux, nor do they look to have been successfully run up to this point with transgamings software...

Understandably, as time goes on and people become less sceptical, I am sure Linux will begin to make more headway against M$.

I got GTA:3 to run in Mandrake Linux, but it ran sloooooooooooooow. Too slow to play. Still, I was proud of my accomplishment.
I still have a triple-boot system: Mandrake, Lycoris, and WinXP. I used Mandrake almost exclusively for everything but gaming there for a couple of years, but lately I've been sticking to WinXP for everything.

I suppose that is the other side of the equation - M$ are slowly getting to grips with all the silly problems they have with '95, '98, 2000, NT, XP and finally LongHorn is intended to overcome the majority of things that caused problems before. Of course they have the jump on Linux etc., but I still feel they will lose grip on the market eventually - especially as more people become more computer savvy, and PCs in whatever form become more an integral part of our lives and not some white man's magic .
