Cougar HOTAS Issues
Posted: 28 Nov 2005, 12:25
Posting this here because I feel it is something that some of us will find ultimately useful.
I have been trying to get Jagstang's realistic F4AF profile to work correctly on and off for some weeks now. And through one thing or another, although vowing to return and turn my Cougar into molten razor blades, I have never managed to get certain controls to work for me. Most importantly, the radar cursor controls for the MFDs failed miserably time after time, in Falcon4AF.
So, over the weekend, I decided that I would finally put this whole damn thing to rest once and for all. And I appear to have found the answer in the readme attached to the file itself. Some people will experience problems unless they de-activate the NumLock key. And this may need to be done BEFORE entering the HOTAS Control Panel program or Foxy after a fresh reset.
Now that I appear to have successfully overcome that issue, my next step will be to re-try the TrackIR Jagstang profile (F4AF TIR Jagstang). Again, reading the accompanying readme file & the set-up page provided by Jagstang (link at his homepage), there he explains part of the set-up on the stick which facilitates the 'loss of lock' problem created by padlocking then moving your head. Let me know if you feel you need a link to the info.
