Perhaps nothing to rattle our little sabres about. However, it should be at least noted, and the relevant individual spoken to informatively?

Afterall, we wouldn't do it to anyone else, would we?

there is nothing to look into. go to the link, then click on the logo and you get "under construction".
been that way since Kodiak posted, and is still that way. likely inactive and maybe even created before this unit!
anyway, Raptor like to call us CMACG Wings of Fury...even though we do probably 50% ground sims. and it is not like we have a copyright or trademark. ;)

"and it is not like we have a copyright or trademark. "
And why not!?!?

I was just making the point, and as long as everyone has at least raised an eyebrow, then I consider myself to have done my part in protecting the good name of the group. There was no other intent.
As for copyrights & trademarks, well sure we don't have it, and all the sort of rights that come with it. No legal footing . . yadda yadda yadda . . .etc., I certainly understand that, but it's just a bad etiquette thing. Of course there is that possibility, maybe it WAS there before our group existed, who knows.

Not sure we care if someone has a similar name? It is not exactly the same. In any case, we may very well have legal footing under copyright laws. We'd have to look into it. Technically once you publish something, that is, once you've written it down, it is protected by copyright. Of course, there are varying degrees of protection and simply posting up a website does not afford a great deal of protection to the name of this organization.

yes - once a work has been published... some folks do call it "publishing" as web site though - but the web site has CMACG Wings of Fury, so...it is not the same.

To be honest, the copyrighting side of life wasn't my beef. I was just trying to show a little pride in our group, and it would have been nice just to see a little from everyone else. It wasn't about causing some poor guy any grief! But, as sometimes happens with this sort of 'dispute' or whatever it may have turned into, or whatever you may care to have referred to it as, we may very well have been able to forge friendship or alliance with our 'other side'.
Funny though, how suddenly after a few weeks one reply, then followed by more! It's a pattern that crops up quite often in this forum. You can post, and no-one seems bothered. Then suddenly a flurry of replies all at once.

Well I don't think anyone here is attempting to criticize you Kodiak. As fo for the slow response, I often don't get to read everything on the forum, much less time to respond. As for pride, well I hear what you're saying and I'm certainly not criticizing you for it. Still, I don't think anyone here is showing a lack of pride. Perhaps we just misunderstood your intention, which of course is to be commended naturally.

Erm, sorry Grif. I didn't mean to come across that way myself. Maybe I could have put that differently so as not to sound like I was criticising others for not responding. The comment about there being no response for so long was aimed at just that, not to get at anyone. Quite often I'll do just that myself. usually cos I haven't seen the post before or simply didn't read it. Steel will inevitably come up and reply by calling me up for trying to boost my post count!
So it was fun poked in that direction really.
Anyway, hope no harm done.
