If anyone wants to engage in the long awaiting second galaxy in Star Citizen, I am the owner of a Polaris Corvette Capital Ship and CIG is started to enact their vision of cooperative play meaning most medium to large ships will not function properly solo. Yes they are pushing Multiplayer team work to ensure success within the verse. At the last citizencon CIG announced that the end goal for orgs will be building their own station and crafting ships and other products. If successful enough an org can craft a mighty bengal carrier but I think a javelin will be a better goal.

Re: 4.0 is finally here...
Hello fellow gamers. It has been such a long time. I got my game updated and running. At this point I am a complete newbie. I can't even get out of my room. Although I did eat a burrito.
So here I am, on the steepest part of the learning curve. Luckily I have plenty of time to get the game running smoothly. At first glance, it's very jerky, low frame rate low responsiveness. I'll have to explore my settings to see if I can get it working, or if it's again time to upgrade my computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm happy to co-pilot, or escort if I can get my ships figured out. I should have 3 ships, A Hornet, A Super Hornet and a freighter maybe?
Stuck in my cabin,
Bron

Yup I hear you. I don't get over here much either. No worries. It's a game.
I am curious to your take on these specs for running SC? Or is it time to upgrade again? It's a couple years old. I have lost track of what good specs are anymore. If this should run the game as is, great. If it is I'll figure out why it's so slow. If not, I may have to wait to do that. Seems a lot going on right now. Right up till Spring. So anyway, here what DCDIAG tells me. Maybe just a video card? The GTX 980 is getting long in the tooth.

Re: 4.0 is finally here...
Bron,
It is gonna be your video card for sure. Before you go upgrade, you need to know what gen pci slot you have to video card. If it is too old, even upgrading the video card may/will not give you much boost.
For that you have to look up your mainboard manufacturer and model and the the specifications.

Re: 4.0 is finally here...
Hammer if he is running the a 12th Gen Intel then he can get away with a 20 series with some bottleneck, a 30 series will definitely work but lower than normal settings for SC with his current board. But Bron you are really looking at a total rebuild. Motherboard, GPU, Processor, Memory and new SSD M.2 drives. For a reference point here are the stats for my build which is a couple of years old"
13th Gen Intel i9 -13900k
ROG Maximus Z790 Hero
64GB DDR 5
GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
6 Samsung 980 and 980 pro SSD Drives 1 & 2 TB
1000W PSU (can't think of the maker right now, its been so long since I've opened my case and it's hidden).
So with that info in mind you should be able to find a compromise but I would highly recommend do not compromise on the GPU, Processor and PSU. At the very least. Also Star Citizen will not I repeat will not run on a mechanical HDD, maybe a hybrid one but not a mechanical one at all. See you in the verse citizen.
FYI I will start checking post here everyday from now on to make sure we keep in touch more frequently.
