DCS, Snowfox, Airfiled Strike, phase 1

Post by Hammer »

I will, if I have time, post a mission card here. This will be the beginning of at least a 2 night mission of striking Havardarya and Bandar Abbas. The initial packages will be air superiority, SEAD, and recon for later target assignments to strike packages.

If I do not have time to produce a mission card a FRAGO will be issued at the beginning of the mission.

WARNORD-05242022-1
Airfield strike Bandar Abbas and Havadarya

Phase 1 to commence at 1800 Pacific, 5/25/2022 on RLG DCS Server, comms via ts.rlgaming.com teamspeak3 server
Phase 1 will consist of Air Superiority, DEAD, and Recon
Phase 2 will strike the airfield targets based upon recon data from phase 1

Commanders' intent is to reduce SAM/AAA to allow for detailed reconnaissance of Bandar Abbas (primary) and Havadarya (secondary) from the air to allow follow on strikes at these airfields. Reducing the operational capability of these airfields will cripple the enemy's air capability.

DEAD: Voodoo will draw out and engage enemy SAM installations in the Bandar Abbas area. Anti-radiation missiles and laser designated munitions are to be used. Close in self protect AA armament. Escort to be provided by Ares. Minimal 3 air frames.

ESCORT/CAP: Ares primary mission to escort and protect Voodoo and Blackbird. Maximal A2A loadout. Minimal 2 airframes.

RECON: Blackbird: once DEAD mission has commenced Blackbird is to begin recon of Bandar Abbas airfield proper. Primary targets of concern are ammo and fuel facilities, along with AAA and SAM emplacements. Secondary target is Havadarya with the same target list. Use targeting pod to record snapshots of targets. Minimal 2 airframes.

Some of us play IL-2, but I don't know if it's been for awhile.

I play IL-2 quite often with Jedi but RLG as a group hasn't played IL-2 for several years now.

Okay thanks - I got to free up some disk space to try the free version of DCS World Steam Edition - and there is quite a bit of Il-2 games on Steam - which one is the most popular?
