Emergency Landing in Dubai
"Also, I would prefer a back seater over the extra gas any day. I would have 80 pounds of flesh to eat and a pair of glasses to start a fire." --F/A-18 Hornet pilot
Re: Emergency Landing in Dubai
Unconventional approach but you made it.
Did some Mi24 practice flying last night. I successfully landed twice in a row without damaging the aircraft. The 3rd time I wasn't ahead of the descent in the aircraft and by the time you're 200 feet over the ramp if you're vertical speed is too fast there is no way you're going to recover. Stay ahead of the aircraft.
The more I fly this the more I realize that helicopters are not supposed to fly. Tweaking my dead zone and curve in my yoke really did help though.
