Lessons to learn:
We really should not be in echelon formation in a combat setting. It's terrible for sighting enemy and gives them an easy solution to attack. Plus...mid air collisions in the heat of battle.
Tactical line abreast would be better.

I had no idea you were that close. I was eyes in the cockpit looking at my TPOD.
I should have given you 2 seconds between - I see the target and rolling in...
That timing was perfect though....

In addition to line abreast, about a mile apart, we should also stack altitudes to force enemy into separating and easier targeting, deconflicting.

Or at least do so (or split) when about to merge, giving them a last minute decision who to go after.
