Athena Sword Patch Install Procedure

Post by Softball »

If your RvS install is patched at 1.53 prior to installing AS, when you install AS it will automatically install 1.54 and then install AS. Once 1.54 and AS is installed, do the following:

1) DL and install the 1.54 to 1.55 patch
http://ravenshield.theplatoon.com/mod.asp?file=224

2) DL and install the AS 1.01 patch.
http://ravenshield.theplatoon.com/mod.asp?file=225

That should be it.

I think 1.55 would be compatible with 1.55 with or without AS ... just would have different maps and weps avail?

AS is not like Resistance for OFP. It's not really integrated, it's a separate mod. When you load AS, it's v 1.01. Load RvS, it's 1.55.
AFAIK, even if you don't have AS you can play RvS, just none of the new maps or weapons or gameplay modes (like Adversarial Terrorist Hunt) will be available.

The funny thing is the game includes three "classic" R6 maps, two of which (Siberian Base and Subway) I already had as 3rd party maps DL'd from the 'net. Of course, Siberian Base I (as the free one was called) is far cruder than the AS-included one. The new maps seem quite good, though.

O.K. - no AS here...

I will patch to 1.55 this evening, if I am on.

Athena Sword

Well, seeing as RvS is one of the most played games we play here, I suggest that those who don't have Athena Sword run down and get a copy NOW dammit! Come on people!

Patch

Actually, I believe the 1.01 patch was out before AS hit the shelves, they must have found a problem they couldn't fix before release. Ah well, it works fine now and it ROCKS!

1.54/AS 1.00 had a sound looping bug apparently.
1.55/AS 1.01 fixed that one bug.

LOL. I just read online that a 1.56/1.02 Patch will be coming out soon for RS and AS.

The patch madness continues!

And so does the install madness - has anyone had a language incompatability install refusal from Athena Sword?
