Assessment and Suggestions

Well folks, we're one hell of a unit. We're kick ass and take names. But recently we have not been playing our "A" game. Oh sure, it's been fun all the same, but none of us like to lose. As Kodiak said that night, I think we need to get back to the fundamentals and practice. We need to work on communication skills and formation most importantly. When we work as a team we are nearly unbeatable, though luck always has a hand in these matters and we shall surely lose a game now and then. Even still, should we practice and improve on our weaknesses, we still must address that demon that seems to interfere with us getting things off the ground in the first place. We must figure out, if possible how to counter miracle nades as they say. So far, we found it best to hunker down and hope that our number is not up. But that pucker factor in that strategy is too high for my taste as I am sure it is for yours. Kodiak suggested we must move out of the spawn point asap and find cover and that seems to make the most sense. We should practice tonight and play a few rounds. see my other post in this forum.

I agree with the idea of practice and tactics.
Yet, i have this nagging feeling in my gut that what may work better in the real world does not work best in GR online. I see nothing to indicate that the guys we compete against use any team tactics or even voice comms. They all run like mad and shoot grenades a lot more than we do - why does that work so much better for them than us? As I observe these guys after I am dead (which happens often) most do not do anything special that i could hope to use. Especially that guy i saw last night that walked without a care right out into the open then right down the middle of the road with no cover. Yet i get blown away hiding under bushes and behind rocks without even seeing who hit me.
I really feel like I am missing something.

Then the question is that since playing GR online does not mirror what would work in real life, do we want to bother fighting others online at all?

I think we still should, just be picky of who we play against...
And realize that most of there folks have no concept of real life tactics and have developed theirs all online...
For ultra realism we can always play team games against each other, at least until we find that one unit that plays like us.
I still think we should continue the online stuff - you meet some great folks and have agood time...
