Ravenshield Hostage/Terrorist Explanation

Post by Gator »

This is an interesting article that show how/why hostages are killed during the execution of a mission. This also applies to other mission goals (intel gathering, bomb diffusing, etc). The linked article is very interesting.

Bottom line: tangos can hear gunfire and may kill hostages or detonate bombs when they do. Only certain tangos are programmed to do so but they won't always. There is a probability of them taking action which varies with the game difficulty.

(BTW: default probability for hostage execution is 40% ... -20% for recruit and +20% for elite.)

after reading the article i came to two conclusions:

1. I have no reason to doubt his research and this info will be useful to us.

2. Seems like he was partially motivated to do his research in an effort to justify tard rushing as opposed to being stealthy. Another in the endless battle between tard rushers and campers.

Well, reality speaks for itself I guess! Not one of our elite tard rushers would even dream of doing that in a real life situation - real bullets don't wound your pride - they kill you! Hands up, all those feeling suicidal today . . . . . . . I didn't think so!
