Anyway, you're right, I DO have to rid of AOL somehow - think I'll make that my next quest this weekend.
To cap things off nicely, her royal Highness has just turned-up from town with a copy of WinXP :wink: , so that will surely help things along too, heh?!

as long as you have enough RAM - yes...

you can test another dialup provider and keep AOL for a bit. you just don't connect to AOL, rather the new provider... do check and make sure they have a local number for you to dial though...
