what map packs are we really using? these things take up an incredible amount of disk space an I would like to get rid of some...

IQ Raven Shield map pack - 2.9GB
RvC 3.0 Map Pack - ???
Raven Shield Comminuty Map Pack v2.0 - 2.2GB

I also have Tango Hunt. Is that an RvS thing or GR? Can it be removed? What about Yaweh's Mint? I thought it was part of a map pack, but it has a seperate uninstaller...

Well, I know that we're currently using the RVC Mappack 3.0. AS for IG mappack, I don't think we use it that much if at all. I have'nt used it in a long while anyway. Ravenshield community mappack may be a keeper, but we've played those time and again so I suppose we could dispense with it. Thoughts? Should we put it to a vote?

What on earth do we need a vote for? If someone wants to keep every freakin map that should be their business. I am keeping them all. My mod folder is only 891 MB and I have about 160 GB of storage. My whole RvS game takes about 3 GB.

Steel and I were talking about this last night. He got those figures from the Add-Remove Control Panel. I do not think those figures represent the true storage requirements. As far as I can tell, the files in these mods go in the maps, modmaps-readme-files, sounds, staticmeshes, template, and texture directories. Some files are really tiny, others on the order of 10-20 MB.

Well, the suggestion of a vote was merely to establish a consensus of which mods we will use as a standard. It sucks for the person who does'nt have the mods that we were planning on using, and then has to d/l for a whole hour to get what they need to play. Furthermore, if we had a standard set, then people like Steel, and me, could throw away the ones they did not want without worrying that they may have screwed themselves over for multiplayer sessions. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but if we had a consensus and people were on the same page, then people could clean up their HDs and get what they need to play. So a vote seemed appropriate. Any other suggestions?
