Here is an example... Some weapons are VERY expensive, so beware before you blow our money! I think everyone should take AK-47's! I see NO reason to ever take sensors...
Please read the rules!
Example WNx, you played 3 games so far. In those games you total 3 players who took oicws and 3 players who took sensors. REMEMBER, each player represents 3 soldiers! So this is 9 oicws and 9 sensors. In your inventory before the games you had only 5 oicws and 5 sensors.
So you were charged for 4 more oicws which costs Federalistas $2,700 * 4 = $10,800. You were also charged for 4 sensors which costs Federalistas $6,900 * 4 = $27,600. Plus sensors have a per battle cost of $600 * 9 = $4,500.
So just for the oicws and sensors you were charged $42,900! These are high tech western weapons and not easily accessible by some 3rd world banana republic governement. If you want to take these weapons, you will pay dearly for them.
As for your weapons inventory, your players who took oicws died 4 times and your players who took sensors died 4 times so while you purchased up to 9 of each, you only have 5 left of each in your inventory because as it says in the rules, soldiers who die loose their equipment.
On the other hand, there were teams who seeing how expensive higher tech weapons are for Federalistas and Guerrilleros (as they should be! what 3rd world army runs around with an OICW and sensors??) took all weapons like AK47's. For the $42,900 spent in sensors and OICWs for just 9 soldiers, you could equip 70+ soldiers with AK-47s and frags! It is up to each team to decide if 1) they can afford the more expensive weapons and 2) if the small advantage they give is worth the cost.
This is a strategy game and managing your money successfully is definitly one of the most important strategies of the game. But also like any strategy game, we are all still learning how to play it, and as our knowledge grows so will our skill.
Sahttered States weapon cost example...

I have also set new contract standards after some anlysis on the cost of supporting a soldier for one turn in a territory... This amount does get a bit back from weapon and recruitment cost - but I do not see a wy to recoup that total cost without pricing ourselves out of the desire of any employers. We should give it a shot at this rate first and go from there.
