BF2 Patch Soon [July 01, 2005, 09:34 am EDT] - 11 Comments
A new Battlefield 2 Community Update (thanks Ant) indicates a patch is on the way soon for DICE's first-person shooter. Word is the update will include fixes for multiplayer browser issues and addresses left mouse button binding issues. There is also news on plans for a fixed Linux server, a BF2 editor update, and an announcement that today will see the release of a new tool to the community from Foolish Entertainment called the Advanced Tactical Center for Battlefield 2:
This easy to use tool allows your clan to communicate tactics easily and evolve them together in real time! There are also some new tools to the ATC like "zoom", "export tactic" and a "Custom Map Wizard" that builds upon the already large library of tools! Create and manage your squad before even joining a server with ATC. For more information on ATC, visit www.foolishentertainment.com

it's good to see timely patch support from them, however, I haven't experienced any show-stopper bugs myself.

I would like to see the next patch contain "official" coop support and unlock the larger maps for SP/Coop use (currently, coop can only use the smaller maps - the larger ones don't support AI properly).

My personal guess is that if they DO introduce it, it will be in an expansion.

They made 2 for BF42, anyone think they WON'T release any for BF2? From EA, publishers of The Sims Expansion 2.3 x 10^5? :?

I think SB and Gator tried it with the full version--Panzer and I have only tried the demo and the performance was laggy for the client.

I've not bought it yet because of the lack of coop. Plus I'm waiting for a sale! :)
