What is our intent with this, as a group?

My intent is to wait for the PC version to see if it's worth playing or not!

indeed...a most intriguing prospect. I would be interested in playing the demo.

I was a little perturbed by the way such titles as FtF kinda frittered-out, we didn't quite get things going there, and one or two others. Hoping to curb the spending there instead of buy first swap/ sell not too much later syndrome.

yes well if we do our research ahead of time and agree to get games as a group, then a few of us who need to, can curb our spending...especially me. I did not buy FTF because of the limited coop abilities. I suspected that it would not last as long as RVS or GR, and I was right. HD2, JO, and OFP have lasted. JO has not been as long lasting, but it's still a viable option in a pinch for most of us.

I wind up playing JO with SimHQ people more often than here mostly. We usually use the Reality Mod...it's not as good as the name may suggest, but it does make things better! ;)

Great video trailer, it looks rendered. I also noticed that in the video there are only 4 guys on the team. I really hope that is not the case when it ships.

Uh...weren't there only 4 guys in GR1?

4 per fire team, but at least up to 3 fire teams per side if i recall correctly.

I mean 4 players TOTAL for MP coop, like Swat 4(I think, havent played MP coop with SWAT 4 yet, only MP solo), FtF, etc...

i know what softball meant...
the comment was to jedi - there were at least a capability of 16 in GR? i know we played with more than 4 for coop...
do you all think it looked more like ftf for coop? was that a single player movie? we probably won't know until they release more details or the game itself.

Ok, I went and looked it up.
According to my GR manual, it seems in coop you could have 9 guys total, with 3 teams of 3 guys each.
In non-coop modes it supported at least 16 players it seems.
I must have been confusing this with another game...maybe H&D 1?

Yeap, sounds about right. I remember at least 6 or 7 guys when we played co-op.

I'll wait for the reviews and until I play the demo before I make a decision to buy. I just have too many games and not enough time right now.

why would this get drudged up from mid-2005???
Posted: 20 Apr 2006, 17:23
by Mooseman
why not
...anyhow, since we're talking about it, i hear tell that GRAW will support on release, 4 ppl for MP, but a bit of tweaking by modders will take that up to the 8-10 mark, which was what most ppl were used to (i certainly am from the 151's GR tourney days, may they return in even greater glory..amen)

hmmm...because there was already another current thread about it. no other real reason, other than one had to search for it as it was from July '05.

Well, have to say, someone must have done something with it, because I found it at the top of the pile. Hence the reason I answered to it. Wasn't taking any notice of the date myself, but if the thread sits at the top of the pile I'll check it out cos it must have a fresh answer/reply. Especially given the title.
Now, I've just gone back and checked that the first person to reply to it recently was myself, and before that was mid 2005, so the question is, how did it get to the top of the pile? Someone edit a post maybe? I dunno, not sure how these things work exactly even though I understand the basics.

I want a demo. Reviewers are largely clueless and dismissing a game because person X gave it a negative isn't smart, nor is buying it because person Y liked it.

Yep, but even those can be misleading sometimes. But you could always wait forever. At which point you'd find they've just released an even newer one! LOL
