So you may have tried the new update....all I can say is....

Yes, it's that slow. MAybe not so much in SP but me, Recluse, and Wingy tried it in MP and it takes FOREVER to get in your chosen slot. You first have to click out of a "tip" they give you about the new interface (this can be turned off later) then you have to choose a coalition, then you have to join the coalition, then and onyl then can you choose a slot and when you do it takes forever to populate or sort, and when you do choose a slot it akes forever to fill it. Then it takes some time to go pit and render.

Some subtle nuances I found too was that if you use mirrors, they're off and you have to manually turn them on by hitting "M". If you have the control stick hidden by default, it's not anymore, so you have to fix that too.

I find the new launcher GUI annoying. It doesn't offer anything much of use and it's one more button I have to click to get started. I turned it off in the setting. From what I hear it's a memory hog too.

Even their instructions for things are wrong. It says to hit RALT F9 to go to PriFly. Well, it's LALT F9! and it's very pretty but it's only really workable in MP and to be the airboss or LSO you have to choose the slot like you would an airplane. Even then, the only thing I was able to d o was tell the ship t o go to a stop and then start up to flank speed. I couldn't get the IFLOFS to work, but maybe someone has to be in the pattern. We'll see.

So I'm a bit underwhelmed and a tad annoyed.

So, ED took the one thing that wasn't a problem in DCS and screwed it up instead of fixing the longstanding, known problems. Awesome.
