Okay, so if you can't set SPI in this sim, you're pretty much screwed. Who has two thumbs and can't set SPI? Yep, this guy. Here's what I did:
Pressed U to set HUD as SOI.
Slew TDC using the semicolon, period, /, and comma key to pick a spot on the ground forward of the aircraft
Depressed LCNTRL and up arrow (not the one of the number pad) and held it for over many seconds. NOTHING. Repeated but used HOTAS since the hat switch is set to TMS Forward. NOTHING.
WTF?! Any thoughts? Watched a youtube and ran the tutorial and still can't do it. Any help on what I'm missing would be appreciated. Thanks!

Finally figured it out. Long story short it had to do with my eyesight. I couldn't see that the TDC was "X" out until I zoomed all the way in. My eyes are bad.
