I checked out the new Supercarrier deck crew. It was cool and added some realism. You probably wouldn't prefer it though if you want to throw realism out the window and just fly. I haven't checked if they would still launch you if you ignore the directors and go right for the cat:

OK, I found out that you can disable the deck crew in missions, but you have to go into the ME and uncheck the option there under "Supercarrier" then resave the mission.
I suppose if we have missions previous to that say on our server, then it wouldn't apply since they were made without the option to begin with.

OK, as a test I tried an old TTI mission. When I landed, the deck crew directed me to park. So the new update somehow knows how to retroactively make Supercarriers utilize deck crew.
We can try it out and if it gets to be a nuisance, we can resave the mission without deck crew.

The Deck Crew isn't related to the Mission, it is part of the SPECIAL OPTIONS for the SUPERCARRIER (not in the new fangled Launcher, but in the original launcher section).
So any MISSION old or New that has a Supercarrier in it (FYI STENNIS doesn't count) will have the directors if the option is enabled. For Multiplayer, I don't know if it is the HOST setting that controls it, or the CLIENT. It might be weird in MP if SOME players have directors and others don't, so I would guess the HOST controls it. To be determined, I guess!
One thing that is nice is, if you uncheck ENABLE DECK CREW, it disables the Directors, but it LEAVES the original Deck crew around the CAT for the hook up and launch sequence! Good for practicing Carrier Quals, as you can head straight back to the CAT after trap and still get the deck crew guiding you for that, but they won't make you Park first.

Before the new launcher, I don't recall any options available in the old launcher, it would just launch--but I am running Steam and maybe the standalone was different. So in my case, I would have to turn the new launcher back on, and enable it there to turn it off (or redo the miz file).

I thought in the launcher cuz you said it was in there original launcher section. When i didn't see it there i figured out that it was in the in game settings.
Leaving it in i also found that if AI taxies ahead of you, you may get stuck waiting for director calls that never come. Some people made ED aware of that already. That, and how you can't remove wheel chocks without first saluting twice, and afterwards if you taxi too fast, you get chocked and you can't have it removed. Sheesh

Slight correction. There does appear to be a setting in the ME, but it is currently over-ridden by the SPECIAL OPTION setting.
Not sure what CORRECT behavior looks like, but, for now, ENABLING in SPECIAL settings will give you deck crew in any NEW or OLD mission containing a SuperCarrier
