Also, you may not know this but you can change which 3D models are loaded in the background of the main menu. You can even make it load a hangar full of different airplanes, or even load a different hangar or use a Carrier instead. There's a Lua file you can edit, and you can create your own custom scene. You can even specify animation of parts or set parts as desired. At one time, I had the Harrier as my hangar model, with all the red protective covers over the sensors and intakes (yes, that is modeled on the Harrier).
