1/48 Monogram Mi-24 Progress Photos

Post by Cr33p3r »

Started a thread for progress pics. This is like 3 hours today. i kept saying "I've got to stop the madness" and then worked on it for another 10 minutes. Did this about 5 times! I did pre-prime other pieces. Step 1 complete. I didn't glue the guys in yet.

Oh you have so much time and patience! Looks good!

Should probably move this to the "Projects" forum...?

Feel free to move if necessary.

Noticed there is far less teal in the Mi24 cockpit so i made some more edits. Also got the gun painted. next step is to paint the sides of the fuslage:

Looks like there's a spot you could tuck a bottle of Vodka in there for Petrovich. Make him feel right at home...

Looking good though

Yes. I just gave them one wash and may do another before the canopy goes on.

Ive got both halves glued together now and waiting for some putty from amazon so I can fill in the gaps and smooth out the seams. I'm probably abotu 1/3 done with it. I'll take another pic this evening. Petrovich's head kept coming off so I had to tilt it down like hes passed out next to the empty vodka bottles.

I need to get some of these to put next to him:

Those 1:48 liquor bottles would also go well with a 1:48 doll/action figure of Richard Burton.

Updated progress. working on cockpit canopy and believe it or not, it has those small fans in the cockpit. I'll give it a coat of dull-cote before adding the glass(plastic).

It's 1/48 so about 12 long.

I'm going with Czech air force scheme. Same one I typically fly on RLG. Since I'm half Czech, I figured a good set of colors. :)

Just got the wings on. its coming together. Not many pieces left on those sprues.

I'll finish all the non-clear stuff and then the decals and dull cote. then the canopy and doors go on. taped the glass windows so they dont fog when i spray it.

The silver or technic used on the rocket pods is cool. Makes them look "heavy metal" and worn.....

Its coming along.... Have you decided on the next one yet?
