madden 2004 PC

Post by daofcmacg »

MAN I LOVE THIS GAME! LoL! I bought it over the weekend and I didn't want to come to work all week. Wow if anyone has it and wants to play online just let me know. If anyone has it and behind a firewall what is the UDP or TCP port number for the game so I can setup my firewall to let me out. Try as I may but I can't find the settings.

Hmmm. Against my better judgment, I will suggest:

When you want to play online, why don't you use DMZ hosting which opens all ports? This will solve your RW problems also, IMHO.

netstat -an

To see what's listening type netstat -an before you start the game and after. You should see new ports with LISTENING on the right and TCP or UDP to the left. As for outbound; you should see those also; if you're using a linksys or something similar you should be all set with regards to those unless you have some funky UDP (being all connectionless and all) traffic you need to compensate for. You should be able to see what's getting blocked inbound by looking at the logs if this is the case.

If you can't alt-tab out of the game (dunno why you wouldnt just saying...) to do the netstat -an you can always start the telnet server in Windows XP, disable NTLM authentication so you can logon with username and password and do it from a telnet prompt (linux weenie my ass)

Of course this would all be moot if you'd stop playing nasty arse sports games and get back to the killing.

And where would these logs be, pray tell?

I'm not having a RW problem anymore. I had the wrong IP address.
