This Friday Night

Post by PanzerMeyer »

Do we guys know yet what we'll be playing or is it too early yet? :D

By the way, the 1.02 patch for Lock On is currently being worked on and the list of bug fixes is HUGE.

I'll play OFP if we can get a decent turnout. If not, I would rather play RvS or GR.

I saw the list of fixes in 1.02 but I wish they would not reset my campaign results. I don't want to keep on replaying the campaigns from the start all the time.

I also wish they would fix their user interface. This is the most non-intuitive interface - regarding Pilot's log, mission selection, loadouts, joining MP,... - I have ever seen.

And while they are at it, get someone who speaks English to correct all the misspellings. Cavalry - NOT CALVARY. Mission - NOT MISION. ....

.

Flanker 2 also had the same problem. I think it's because both games were made by Russian developers and their logic/thinking processes are probably quite different from ours.

I'm not happy that the lag issues with the nForce 2 chipsets is not mentioned. The 1st patch didn't help at all. Panzer and I can fly ONE mission before he has to quit and reconnect. Otherwise, ahead Warp Factor One, Mr Sulu!

That's a pitty since i think as far as they are concerned they fixed that bug in the first patch! (Well they said they had reduced the warping problem drastically but it was not completely fixed!).

OFP

Post by Softball »

Friday night, if the Mrs. and I do not have any plans, I will be on for whatever. OFP has been quite nice to play as of late, and I think we have been doing quite well, completing a lot if not all of the missions with ease. I'll post something in the OFP forum when I know for sure if I will make it.

don't use the on board sound if you have an nforce2 chipset... you can get a decent add on for pretty cheap - sblive 5.1 or an audigy2. that should take care of your lag problems...

Same here! Yeah, I've also noticed that we seem to be dying a lot less now and actually completing the mission objectives.

Wait..I'm confused now. Are you referring to the onboard NETWORK adapter on the motherboard or the onboard SOUND? I thought it was the integrated network adapter that was causing the problem.

Both Panzer and I have Audigy cards, we don't use the onboard sound. I also am using an addin NIC instead of the onboard, but that doesn't seem to help either.

If i remember correctly (don't quote me on this) the Nforce 2 bug was not supposed to be affect OL play if both players had Nforce 2 Mobo's only if another player had a different chipset!

It might also have been that it had to be the exact same Mobos for the
NForce 2 bug to have no effect but i do remember something along these lines being spoken about on the Lomac Forums i'll make a search and try and find out exactly what was said but i am sure it was only effective with different Mobos on different chipsets not both players having Nforce 2 boards!

Anyway lets hope they do some more bug fixing in this area and eliminate the problem altogether!

that does not sound right from a technical point at all Nemesis...

i have an nforce2 board. i have never had any issues whatsoever.

i have an sblive! 5.1 card. i use the on board nic, the one by the ps2 ports, the 3com.

i understood the lag to be caused by the on board sound. make sure it is disabled in your bios... maybe check to ensure you have the latest versions of bios and drivers as well... you can not use the nvidia nforce2 drivers if i recall correctly - you need the ones put out by Asus if you have that board.

Oh, the nvidia drivers can cause problems?

Hmmm. I may take a look at ASUS site then!
