Bank Level

Post by Hudson »

Has anyone been able to beat this map on medium difficulty without losing any men? If so how the h* did you do it. I cannot get passed saving the records without either having them destroyed, or losing a man in the process; and we're talking three teams coming in the room from three directions. It is sickening.

as you know, I never move all three teams at the same time because, well, they're stupid and they get themselves killed. First I get on top of the bus and snipe the guy in the window. Then, I usually attack the main floor, entering from the side or front doors. Then immediately go to top level and clear the entire top floor out starting with the the records room. Then from the top level, I snipe those in the center lobby. Then I go back to the main floor and work those rooms. Then I go to the bottom vaults. Here you need a team with all gas masks and a tear gas guy. Toss the tear gas and move quickly to shoot all those in your way. You've got about ten seconds to make this happen before they shoot the hostages. Flashbangs can be helpful here too, but can cause you problems if you're caught in the explosion. I would try securing the hostages first and then shooting your way out, but as I recall, I killed most if not all terrorist before getting to the hostages, so just experiment.

I start out about the same...

Post by Hudson »

I start out about the same. I lead red all the way to the back and pick off the guy on the balcony. I then alt over to gold snipe the sob in the window, then back to red and slaughter the stupid SOB's coming out the door. I use the M82A1 to snipe because it's f'ing loud and tons come pooring out to see what's going on. The more the merrier. I cut a pretty huge swath around that side of the building, but don't go too crazy, because if you open the wrong door and get seen, bye bye hostage. The other two teams seem to go fine all the way through the hostage rescue. I very rarely if ever lose someone from one of the other teams before the records room. I usually move a little ahead at each waypoint and clean up a little because green is so close, it only helps to ensure their survival when on the second floor.

I also remembered you saying that about the tear gas on the bottom level so I've kept green in the masks and tear gas, in the event I get that far. But storming the records room has been an absolute nightmare.

But the records room has been an absolute nightmare. If I lead red, someone on green gets it, if I lead green someone on red gets it. I've tried leading gold through the third doorway and lend some help with the third team since they are doing nothing at that point. They still either manage to get waxed or let the records get destroyed. It's proving to be a total absolute and complete nightmare. I dunno. I suppose I can f* with it somemore, but I'm sure I'm over 50 tries now, and it's very discouraging. :?

I would only use one team to assault the records room. Use tear gas or flashbangs again to subdue your tangos, and then just walk in and waste the mofos.

Progress

Post by Hudson »

Progress i suppose. I just went in with USAS-12's fast and furious and kept as far back and close to the wall as I could so no one could skag me from the left. Took out the fool who runs for the computer, when I got the message I backed off, lit up the room with all kinds of tear gas, and cleaned up. After that I headed downstairs and f'ed up badly. As always this map is gonna take just one more time I suppose. Actually it was stupid I got nervous and backed up only to realize a split second too late they werent going for me but the hostages. I tried to get him but no go. Next time I know; although that looks a major bitch, worse than the last. Guess Im gonna go down stairs first after cleaning the first floor. If I can clean that mess the records should be no biggie

The bank map is hard and you have to live with the fact that you will lose one or two team members in this one. Now far as saving the bank records remember guys boths teams storm the room to clear it not just one, yes yes the AI team members are stupid but once I found out that if its a joint room clearing you burst in first thru the doors thus swinging all attention to you and at that very split second give the go code for the other team and also clean out only whats in front of you and move thru the room at max speed so you can beat the guy to the computer if the other team dosen't get him first. Thats how I beat it ultimately. Without the second team you can't beat it in my honest opinion.
