Eurofighter typhoon Operation Icebreaker

Post by daofcmacg »

Wassup guys. I just got Eurofighter typhoon up and running(I was dumb enough not to try compatibility), and now I'm stuck without a keycard instructions or anything. I looked on SIMHQ's site and no mention of the game, I do a google and rage site dosen't even exsist anymore. So if there is a update, keycard and instructions out there I would really like to find them. Do you guys have anything????

Well I have been playing Typhoon and if Rage has gone under I can see why...this is more like an arcade than anything else. Where made them invent an all seeing radar oh and how do you turn the radar on and off??? They left out alot of things for the interactive campaign engine. Oh and by the way single player mission, what in the hell happened to that. The pop-up windows remind me of Janes ATF pop-up.

From what I remember from EF2000 from DiD back in the day, the Typhoon's radar doesn't work the same as the older generation. They do indeed see a god's eye-type picture, generated from AWACS and ground radars and other planes and all networked together. The onboard radar activates when needed, rather than being manually switched on or off.

That said, I never bothered with Typhoon, only the EF2000 predecessor, so I can't comment on its gameplay.

I also played DID F-22, which although similar, was a little more professionally done. But the "radar" is exactly that an all seeing eye god view due to the AWACS input, and also input from other friendlies such as associated wings or squadron aircraft tactically positioned relative to yourself.
Unfortunately, as you've discovered, Eurofighter is very arcadish in nature and I was personally very disappointed, because being a Brit I was kinda hoping it would go a long way to rivaling Falcon 4.0, using a Brit aircraft which is a match for most out there - it could have been a real winner, but they blew it. Would really love to see Typhoon modelled in Falcon 4.0 SP4 or the new all singing - all dancing sim promised by those who said they were going to give us Falcon V.
And finally, sorry, I haven't found anything for you yet.

There is a forum at the following address, which may or may not have what you want:

http://forums.frugalsworld.com/vbb/

I'm sure you are already aware of the existence of Frugal'sWorld, but if not, this is a very good source for information on most things to do with virtual aviation, they are a very friendly crowd, and Frugal himself is a good egg willing to help you out personally if he can. A website definitely woth placing in your faves list.
Finally, if you get desperate i will set-up my scanner and scan some stuff for you - I have found my keycard, and booklet.

Before and shortly after release SimHQ had an active Typhoon forum. That didn't last, though.
