Halo?

I like putting suggestionsforward. Great FPS-as Softball probably knows. I believe it allows for co-op campaigns.

Yeah, on the Xbox, sitting next to someone it does.
The PC version only has DM and CTF I think.

I can only speak for the XBox version - it indeed has coop campaign for 2 players on the same system. Never played the PC version, but I believe Jedi is right.

Halo

I tried to play Halo the PC version(Full and "free" version) on my computer, it would not run, period. I finally gave up, uninstalled it and returned it. I recently bought UT2004, maybe we can get together on this one, time permitting of course.

P.S. PC version does not have Co-op. :x

UT2004 might be an option if we can slow it down instead of run n gun...

there are some meaningful mods for it as well, some released and some almost there...

unlike a few folks here, i do not mind futuristic mods at all - i actually enjoy them so some of these mods might be worth looking at. if we could find a unrealscript coder, i probably have rules for weapons, damage, range, etc. for futuristc stuff that is pretty realistic (actually) from my miniatures/role playing days.

I agree with Steel - however, it's always the same problem/issue: These games that don't have co-op campaigns require more people and that means we have to have enough people who A) have the game and B) are available too play it.

I think it's these reasons why we never really had much support for games like America's Army, Infiltration, Halo, UT, Battlefield 42, etc and why GR, OFP, and RVS are more popular with our crowd.

As for UT04, I'd get it and I'd learn it if there was any reason to think we'd use it - it's not the kind of game I'd play alone like Splinter Cell, Far Cry, or Halo which are great single player games. I have these same concerns for Soldner and Joint Ops.

Am I right in saying that vehicles can be driven in UT04?

Yes, in both Onslaught and some Assault maps there are vehicles. Some are 1-person, some are multicrewed. Of course, it's a scifi shooter so they don't really have anything like realism...but they're fun! Panzer and I love playing coop against the bots. They are damn good!

Well, looks like I'm all set for the release of Halo 2. Picked up an XBox on eBay the other day.
