The 16x12 aren't really "pits" per se but rather cockpit graphics collections. You would have to fashion your own "pit" from these. They aren't usable as purchased. Basically, you could create msfs2k2, USAF, or falcon pits from these source packages, but you couldn't give them to your squadmates.
All of his older 1024 pits are available for free as you said.
At least that's the way i read it.

I don't get the charging thing for something that is not even a pit, and then you can't sidtribute it to the community. I guess greed takes over just about everywhere eventually...
I think a MUCH better model would be to make the pits at 16x12, then charge a nominal fee for those...maybe $2.50 or something. I would certainly buy them and he would prolly make more money in the long run. But that is just my opinion...
