IT'S COME!

At last! I'm off for a couple of days while I sort out a PC upgrade.

This means lots of G-R, LO-MAC, Il-2 FB, basically any sim that I have. However, I'm really cheesed off, 'cause the parts were meant to arrive yesterday, but they're not going to arrive tomorrow, so I may be off for even longer.

C'mon mate! Tell mummy & daddy you need to get up for a glass of water or something and you're just gonna check your e-mail! Surely you must be able to get up for a game or two with us all, eh? Once?

I'm actually in Devon at the moment, but I'm coming home this evening. The new PC is'nt going to be ready for a couple of days, but I should be able to get on to one of our other ones that we have revamped. I have yet to try LOMAC on it, but it should work quite well. As for getting up in the morning, my dad's office is in our garden, and the computers are in there. Hopefully, this new one may go in my room.

The specs will be:

AMD Athlon XP2500
512MB RAM
128MB GeForce FX5200 :(
Nice big HDD with a decent cache size
XP Pro
All cooped up in a lovely silver server case

There is also a chance that we will get ADSL/Cable

Boing! That is a fairly good spec mate - you should notice the difference with that. It's quite close to my spec and I know even at 56K I noticed a difference whilst on line with the guys in USA.

Hammer i hope everything goes well with the new PC.

I am Finally getting a Decent Monitor (for my 32nd Birthday on the 15th June, Don't forget the pressies guys LOL  )

I still say my wife is the greatest since i had 3 things i could have chosen for my birthday the monitor being the most expensive.

They were.

1. 19" Monitor (currently using an ancient 15" since my 17" blew up last year)

2. Track IR3 Pro (have been considering this for quite a while and since i hate the padlock view in Lomac i think this would greatly increase Situation awareness in all of my sims)

3. New Athlon XP-M 2500+ ( A lovely little mobile version of the Barton chip that is gauranteed to overclock to 2.5Ghz aircooled due to it being able to run at lower voltages and having an unlocked multiplier)

So My wife asks me the other day what i wanted for my birthday and i said 1 of these 3 and you know what? she turns round after asking how much they all cost and says ok you can have any 2 out of the 3!!!! 8O

The eyes bulged out of my head in absolute glee and disbelief.

So i choose the monitor as pressie No 1 this is really needed, that old 15" is doing my eyes no good at all.

As for pressie No 2, well im still not sure??

Go for the Processor that has had loads of reviews and give my system a boost to Athlon FX51 equivelant performance or.

Go for the Track IR3 Pro and give my Flight sims a boost and get the most out of that new monitor!

MMMMM any suggestions guys???

Oh P.S. my current system spec is.

15" crap monitor
Abit NF7-S V2.0 Motherboard (Very nice)
AMD XP 2400+ (not bad)
HIS Radeon ICE-Q 9800 Pro (great! overclocked to way past 9800XT speeds and still runs cool and rock solid)
1 GIG PC2700 (333Mhz) Crucial Ram (not bad)
80 Gig Seagate barracuda HD (does the job)
52X Samsung CDRW (What can i say? it's a CDRW)
An obscure 5.1 sound card (does what i need it to on my 2 cheapo labtec speakers)
NIC card to let my wife PC connect to the net through my PC.
Q-Tec 550W PSU (again, it does the job)

My friend got TrackIR3 yesterday. He's 55, plays Il-2 FB, and only has one arm!!! (due to a motorbike accident). He's upgraded both our existing PCs, and is putting this new one together. If you want to get in touch, his e-mail address is ross@willowdene.co.uk :he is a very interesting guy.

It's a slang term for present.
